vinnie pov -

even though a fresh new start was what i thought i needed, i still felt so blocked from my art. i couldn't dazzle my art how i envisioned or used to enjoy it. after moving places and into a new comfy apartment, my artist-eyesight is still blocked.

my hand sat on the edge of the sketchbook, hesitating about what to do with the scribble in front of me. pink matter played through my airpods as i was hoping it would help me with my blockage.

"maybe it's the unpacking i still have to do that's making me feel discouraged," i mumbled, glancing at nano who sat on his pet bed near the window. his ears laid back and the ginger brown dots sitting on his eyebrows shifted.

he's most likely waiting for jenae to return home from being away for so long. most times i see jen in the morning when we both are just waking up, despite the fact that i rarely see her since we have different schedules. today i came home a bit earlier but as i was coming into the apartment, she was getting ready to leave out.

i sighed, "any ideas?" hoping nano could possibly answer back with his ears propping forward and his head lifting.

as if it were by coincidence, keys jingled against the front door and then it opened. nano rushed to the front of the apartment, sniffing and greeting his owner who had just come through the door. i looked over my shoulder to glance at the both of them equally delighted to see each other.

jenae's foot pushed the front door closed and she unlaced her heels, throwing them and not caring wherever they landed. she modeled a dress that i assume she created. it had beautiful shades of pink that hugged her skin to show off her captivating body. her ginger coils were styled into a beautifully shaped fro that sat high on her head like a crown.

she deeply exhaled, not even noticing i was there "i should be sketching a new design or working on my new collection instead of fooling around

she deeply exhaled, not even noticing i was there "i should be sketching a new design or working on my new collection instead of fooling around." mumbling under her breath and flicking the kitchen light on.

maybe i could bother her a bit instead of sitting here and being uninspired.

i took my airpods out and put my sketchbook to the side. walking toward her quietly i asked, "fooling around?" startling her and causing her to jump.

"damnit you scared me!" she roughly rolled her doll eyes, plucking me with her french tip nails. "ouch!" i rubbed my arm, snickering. she grunted in annoyance "what are you still doing up?" knitting her eyebrows.

"i could ask you the same thing. you're coming home at 12 o'clock?" my arms crossed while i peeked at her rummaging through the fridge.

"you seem tense." i studied her.

with yogurt and granola in her grasp, she closed the fridge, placed the items on the counter, then looked at me with a 'don't fuck with me right now face'. "that's because i am." she groaned.

"then why don't i help you with that? my bed could always use a bit of-" i teased, smirking.

"please," she interrupted and put threw her palm in front of my face "you would add to the stress."

"i doubt that jen," i chuckled, returning my hands in my sweatpants pockets.

from the glimmer, i notice the bulky silver watch sitting on her wrists that looked too big for her. "nice watch," i pointed at it while she took a scoop of the yogurt-granola mix. "uh-thanks" she muttered under her breath, darting her eyes at the jewelry as if she didn't know she was wearing it.

"so what are you doing up?" she asked, taking more scoops of the yogurt. i assume the yogurt calmed her nerves from whatever irritated her before. exhaling, i clicked my tongue in hesitation. "i've got a bit of an 'art block'." i put up air quotations.

"mmn," she hummed, jumping her eyebrows. "well, good luck with that. i'm gonna go to bed," she waved her hand. "though i feel like i forgot something." she tapped her chin and mumbled under her breath while walking away.

then, she stopped in the middle of the hallway and asked, "is it my night to do the dishes?"

i shook my head.

she flicked the kitchen light off as she walked past me. "sweet. goodnight then." she walked into her room with nano following behind her and she closed her door.

"night," i murmured, returning to the couch with a dot of inspiration.
