03. Back to Hogwarts

The train stopped, indicating that they've arrived at Hogsmeade station. Y/N, Marlene and Lily sat on a carriage together and the thestral made its way to Hogwarts.

"I will get Lily to go out with me this year. Mark my words. She will be charmed by the charming man I am," James said as he opened his arms dreamily, knocking some first years in the process.

"You say that same thing for five years, Prongs" Sirius snickered, Remus and Peter chuckled a bit, too.

Y/N heard that conversation very clearly and she looked at Lily with a teasing look.

She rolled her eyes and said: "Don't even get me started with you and Remus," Lily smirked at her friends expression.

"There's nothing between us!" she hissed "besides, you should start to accept those dates James gives you every week."

The great hall was full and packed. The smell of freshly lit candle flies in the air. Y/N and Lily sat right next to each other and Marlene opposite of them beside Dorcas but James on the other side of Lily.

"Welcome to another year at Hogwarts. If you're new here, then Welcome to your new home!" The headmaster, Dumbledore said.

The sorting ceremony was finished and the four tables of the great hall was filled with various options of foods that magically appeared.

Sirius notice Remus' eyes that're lingering on a specific girl, Y/N. He smirks and threw a butter at his face. "Earth to Moony."

Remus turned to face Sirius only to glare at him. Y/N turned to face them and saw Remus wiping his face with his hands. She quickly handed him a tissue, "Here"

"Thank you," Remus said quietly, a form of faint blush visible in his cheeks.

James now noticing —after eye-snogging Lily— snickered and threw a grape at Sirius. "Oi mate let Moony stare at Y/N for as long as he live!" he shouted; making the whole table turns to him then at Y/n and Remus.

Y/N glared at them both, her mouth filled with food so she can barely talk.

"Another year, another loads of detention," James said smugly while twirling his wands in his fingers.

"Only if you were more brilliant like me, you wouldn't!" Sirius flipped his imaginary hair around.

"Don't even get me started, you have more detentions than me!"

"But I'm smart enough to make excuses, Prongs."

Their argument went on and on leaving the both of them drenched in water. Y/N don't remember how, but it just happened. Sirius and James laughed, water dripping on the wooden floor all the while they're walking up to their dorm like an idiot.

"It's getting late, I'll see you in the morning," Y/N said to Remus who were reading a book and Peter. "Lily you coming?"

"Yes wait for me!"

After the two got dressed in their night wears, Lily jumped on Y/N's bed with a smile Y/N knew is irritating.

"Are you finally going to admit that you and a certain Marauder like each other?" Lily stated as she pulled the end of her bed cover over her leg.

"I do not!" Y/N said firmly. She does maybe find him a bit attractive and that's all. She doesn't have feelings for him —not now at least.

Lily eyed her face suspiciously, trying to see through her expression. "If you say so! Pretty sure you have almost all classes together, good luck with that,"

"Shove off Lily, even is he does, I'm too young and inarticulate to have heartbreaks and dramas," Y/N rolled her eyes with a scoff.

It was true, she came to Hogwarts to study and make friendships that'll last a lifetime, not to worry about boys and their stupidity.

"But you've been single your whole life!" Marlene joined once she was out of the loo. She then jumped face first to Y/N's bed afterwards.

"Excuse me? My life will complete itself, I don't need anyone," Y/N stated dramatically, waving her hands around.

"If you say so," Marlene and Lily laughed at her friends' seriousness. "Your bed is comfortable, I don't want to move so can we switch beds for one night?"

"No, Mar. Go back to your bed," Y/N chuckled, hitting her with her pillow slightly.

"Maybe your bed would be comfortable if you clean it for once!" Lily said, pointing to Marlene's messy bed.

The girls had just arrived here not long ago and Marlene's side is already messy; books scattered everywhere; bed sheets crumpled.

"Sod off, Lily. I like the way it is!" Marlene scoffed at her. "I'm tired," she yawned as she closed her eyes.

"This bed is only for one people Mar," sighed Y/N. Lily grinned waving a small 'good night' to the two before walking to her own bed and covered herself in the sheets.

"Fine I'll go, Gosh I have to clean it in order for me to sleep," Marlene complained while eying her bed.

"You have a wand for Merlin's sake. Good night"
