28. News of New Attacks

More muggleborns have been killed. Attacks on each corner of the wizarding world. It was no surprise to anyone that the so-called Dark Wizard, Lord Voldemort —or as some people say, He Who Must Not Be Named / You Know Who— has returned.

It would be a lie if Y/N said that she wasn't scared nor terrified. Y/N's heart break most to her best friend, or Sirius would say 'her caterpillar for her leaf'— Lily Evans.

Remus was also terrified by the fact that his mother is a muggleborn. Ever since the term has started, his heart swelled every time he heard news about death eater attacks here and there.

The atmosphere at Hogwarts is undeniably intense. The students have (probably) the most powerful wizard alive in the entire wizarding world as their headmaster. It calmed some students down but not so much for the seventh years who'll leave the castle in just 5 months.

Y/N and her best friends would leave this place; meaning that they will leave the safest castle. She has tried to be optimistic but that doesn't make any difference.

"Let's not be gloomy, shall we?" said Sirius trying to defuse the tension between the seven.

"He's right. As long as we're here, every one of us will be fine!" Marlene attempted too.

"We won't be here in five months. Who knows what'll happen when we left this place?" said Y/N sadly. It wretched her heart whenever she thought about leaving Hogwarts —her second home. Besides it being the safest place for her, she'll also miss every single thing about it.

Remus pulled her figure towards himself, kissing her temple affectionately; wanting to make her feel safe as he possibly could.

"How come nerdy wolfboy has a better love life than charming Sirius!" Sirius looked at the pair in a joking manner.

They're just young seventeen years olds who grew up together in the same castle; pranking every night; laughing on a daily basis; comforting the other whenever they're down; being the best friends anyone could ever asked for, but the world is cruel to innocent people.

"Don't worry too much, my Lily-flower. I'll protect you with my whole life," said James to Lily who was leaning to him. It was no doubt that the redhead muggleborn has been crying and worrying.

Somehow, the atmosphere of the common room has started to become normal again —just like the old days. The Marauders, of course, were the one who lighten it up. The four cracked jokes —some funny, some aren't.

"Love, do you want to sleep with me at my dorm?" Remus questioned once the evening has turned to night.

Y/N smiled warmly at him —the smile that gives him butterflies— and nodded. "I'll get change first, wait for me in your dorm, will you?" with that, Y/N got to her dorm and changed into her nightwear.

She knocked on the door and Remus opened it with a large grin on his face. "Come in, my darling," he gestured inside before leading her to his bed.

Remus set the pillows in place and lied down, opening his left arm for her to lie to. She gracefully got down to his bed —that was quite comfortable— and snuggled to his chest.

She felt safe at the moment; in Remus' warm embrace. He was braiding a small part of her hair.

"Remus?" asked she, tilting her head up. He hummed in response, his eyes focusing on her hair. "What'll happen to us once we're out of school? No need to answer this now, I know it's- a very hard time"

"Please don't break up with me." he said. His heart pounding rapidly for her answer —which Y/N noticed since her hand were placed against his chest.

"What makes you think of that? Of course I won't," the girl huffed though there were visible glass over her eyes.

"I was sort of afraid. You're the only person that I love and feel completely safe with. In times like these, you're all I need," said he truthfully.

Y/N smile at this, Remus always find a way to make her heart flutters. "I love you and I promise I'll be with you for as long as I can"

"I love you too, so much really," his heart admitted. "Let's go to sleep, yeah?" he tucked her hair behind her ear briefly.

She nodded feeling grateful for his presence. If God forbids fate and turned them into a goodbye, she would at least be thankful to experience love in her life.

He smiled down at her and placed one last kiss on her head before drifting off to sleep. It was a dreadful time for witches and wizards but Y/N never fails to give him a little hope.
