Apparently, Dimitri's cave was much larger than anticipated. Dimitri was moving fast through the tunnels of the cave until he came to another part of the cave that was where he had another fire set up and more animal pelts. It had some torches and was concealed with a waterfall covering it. Once he made it there, he quickly enveloped you in a tight hug. "Oh, my child. I'm so sorry. I never should've let this happen to you". He stopped hugging you and looked you over. "Are you injured anywhere"!?
"No".
"Are you sure? I heard very loud explosions and thought you got hurt".
"No. I'm ok".
"Thank goodness. My child, I shouldn't have never let this happen to you".
"What"?
"Putting you in danger. I took my eyes off you for a moment and thought I lost you forever. I promise, for now on, I will never lose you again. I promise". Dimitri held you close once again but the moment was short lived when a loud scream calling out your name startled you both. "James"!
"James"?
"Yeah". You were put down and you looked back up to Dimitri. "He's my friend. They're looking for you".
"Child, please, you cannot tell them that I live here. They'll kill me"!
"They pinky promise to not to. They want to study you".
"St- study me"?
"Yeah"! Dimitri wasn't sure if you knew what you were talking about but from what he saw, those three men didn't harm you and were caring. But trusting them after they had almost killed him was more than enough to deny that request but Dimitri then looked back down at you. You were so hopeful and innocent. How could you ever tell a lie? "I still don't know if it's a good idea. Remember, child, they hurt me".
"But they won't if I'm here. They pinky promised! Please"? Dimitri was still thinking this was a horrible idea but thought that if you were standing there, nothing bad would happen to you or him. Who would do violent actions in front of a young child? Well, other than your parents. Dimitri had almost forgotten about them and looked back at you. The scars on your arms were still present but they looked to be healing nicely and so did your opened wound.
Dimitri saw that it was bandaged nicely and knew that he wouldn't have been able to do that. This was enough to say that those three men wouldn't harm you but he had to worry about his well being. "(Y/n)! Where are you" James yelled. You both turned your heads to the sound of his frantic voice. "Please"? Dimitri looked down and saw you raising your arms up to him. He couldn't help but smile and picked you up. "Now, how can I ever say "no" to my adorable little one". He held you close and said, "I'll only do this as long as your close to me".
"Ok". Dimitri smiled and gently placed a kiss on your head. As he slithered back to where the men were, he saw that they were desperately looking for you. He hid in the shadows and put you down and whispered, "Tell them I'm here and I'll come out". You nodded and got their attention. "James"? The three men quickly spun their heads around and James quickly rushed to you and enveloped you in a tight hug. "Oh my god, (y/n)! I thought we lost you! Are you alright"!?
"Yeah".
James set you down and Gavin and Alex came over. "Where were you"!?
"With Dimitri".
"He's here" Gavin asked.
"Yes".
"Where is he-"
"You promise you won't hurt him"?
"I already pinky promised you" Alex reiterated.
"Ok. Come out". From the shadows and into the light, Dimitris scaled body appeared until he was finally in front of the three men, towering over all of them. Gavin was filming the whole thing, Alex was so tempted to shoot it and James held your shoulders. "Holy shit" Alex breathed out.
"Language" James said and didn't take his eyes off Dimitri.
"This is... this is... incredible" Gavin said as he was still filming and started to move closer which made Dimitri slither backwards a bit. "It's ok. I just want to film you". Gavin was now moving around Dimitri filming and was looking happier than a kid in a candy shop. "What is that" Dimitri asked to Gavin, motioning to his camera. Gavin was so ecstatic and moved back in the front of Dimitri to film his face. "Can you repeat that, please"?
"I asked, what is that"?
"It's a video camera. Where did you learn to speak English"?
"I... Well, I've always known how. Forgive me, but I've never, exactly, interacted with humans before. Until now". Gavin was still filming and got his backpack off. "Uhh listen. Would you be willing to do some tests"?
"Of what kind"?
"Agility, strength, blood tests, intelligence and other stuff".
"Only if (Y/n) remains close to me". The three men tensed up and James gripped your shoulders. "Why"?
"I have made a promise to her, that I would always protect her. And I don't intend to ever break that promise". The three men exchanged looks but you got loose from James grip and went to stand in front of Dimitri, holding his hand. "Please"? They should know better than trusting a young childs judgement but they could see that look in your eyes and Dimitris eyes as well. You both were being honest and that's all they ask for.
"All right. That's fine".
"Then we have a deal". Dimitri extended his hand to James and his hand was shaking as he put it in his reach and shook it but Gavin immediately came forward and examined Dimitris hand.
"Alrighty, let's get started"!

Ok. Another part completed. I'm gonna ahead and share this with you. Today, as I'm writing this (1/30/22) my dog Sigmund passed away. He was 17 1/2 years old and it amazes me that he lived for that long since he's a miniature dauchsaund and that breed lives to be 12-16 years. He was apparently a pure bred from championship pure bred dauchsaunds and he never had any health problems. I don't want to cry because I'll never stop. He grew up with me and now he's gone forever.
