(14) How powerful he really is

Running through the forest brought back the memory of when you first met Dimitri. You had just escaped from your parents and were only relying on the small amount of energy you had to get away from them. But all that energy ran out and you passed out from exhaustion. That was the moment Dimitri found you. Cold, injured and alone. Now, you felt all alone again because Dimitri was gone. But not if you find him first. You had fell down a couple of times but that still didn't stop you and some thorn vines wouldn't stop you either as some got tangled around your legs, making you fall, yet again.

As you tried to get free, the sound of footsteps was coming towards you. You didn't care if it was either James or Gavin or even Alex. You didn't care about the lecture that would surely come from this, you needed Dimitri. That's all you care about at this moment. "Well, well, well". You perked up at the sound of the voice. An all too familiar voice that sent chills up your spine. Your father and with him was your mother. "We've been looking for you. Didn't think you'd last long. Where have you been, huh"?

You tried to run but he was quick to grab you and yank you close to him making the thorns pierce into your skin and cut deep making you scream in pain. "Shut the hell up, you dumbass kid" your mother cried out in fear, worried that someone heard you.

"Who cares if someone heard her" your father said, "There's no one out here".

"Step away from my child" said a voice so darkly. You and your parent's turned to the sound of the voice but there was no one. "Who's there? Come out you fucking coward" your father demanded.

"If you wish".

Your parents tensed up and your fathers grip on you was unbearable. Suddenly, your parents gasped for air and you felt your fathers grip loosen enough for you to get away. As you looked back, you saw none other than Dimitri, wrapping his coiled body around your parents, suffocating them. "Dimitri"?

"Shh, don't worry, little one. Go behind a tree. You don't need to see this-"

"HELP" your father and mother screamed. "SOMEONE HELP US"!

"Two humans who have the audacity to harm their own kin, deserve a special place... in hell". Dimitris eyes then changed from normal and human looking to now being vertical slits and black, more snake like, and was now hissing loudly like a roar. You couldn't take your eyes off of what was happening and stood frozen in place and in fear. Dimitri then unhinged his mouth, showing sharp teeth and how wide it could be and bit down on your parent's heads to their necks, biting them clean off.

You wanted to scream but no noise came out but many tears of fear poured from your eyes. Your legs buckled and you fell to the ground and Dimitri quickly noticed and turned away from your sight to spit their heads out of his mouth and letting their headless bodies drop to the ground, bloody and lifeless. He quickly wiped the blood off his face and turned to face you. "Child? Ch- child, are you ok"? He slithered towards you. "I came as quick as I could when I heard you scream. Did they hurt you"?

You didn't answer and only stared at him. "Child? Are you alright? I didn't want you to see that but they would've killed you. I promised I would never let anything harm you. Didn't I" he asked, hoping to get a response from you. When he received nothing, he cautiously reached out to touch you and you flinched. "Oh, child. You know I would never harm you".

"Are they... dead"?

"Yes. Yes, they are".

As cautious as possible you took a step towards Dimitri and saw that he was scared. He was scared of what he has done but was surprised to see you reach your hand up to his face and place your small hand on his cheek. "Don't go" you said weakly. Dimitris eyes watered and he carefully picked you up. "You wish to stay with me"? You nodded and hugged him as tightly as you could and he returned the embrace. "I don't know how, but I'll try-"

"HOLY SHIT"!

Both you and Dimitri were met with two shocked and unfamiliar faces as well as guns. "SHOOT IT! SHOOT IT"! Dimitri tried to slither off but he failed as a tranquilizer was shot into his body and he was instantly getting weak. He kept trying to get away but it was hopeless as the tranquilizer knocked him out but he still held onto you. You manged to get free from his grasp and tried to wake him up but the people who shot him came closer, making you yell at them to "GO AWAY" but they didn't listen and called the police.

"JAMES! ALEX! GAVIN! HELP"!
