A Nagas caring nature (Naga! X Child! Reader)

(1) What are you!?

A poor family life with abuse after abuse after abuse. It felt like there was no escape but when the two people who gave you life were about to make you expire too soon, you ran into the woods. Deep within your Paleolithic chromosomes, you knew the only way to get further away from them was forward through the seemingly endless terrain of trees, grass and animals.

Knowing you reached an end, you were lost. No one to save you. No one to protect you. No one to love you.

Until now...

"Hold her down".

"NOOOOOO! MOMMY! DADDY! STOP"!

"Ain't nobody gonna help you".

With every kick, bite and scratch, you couldn't escape their death grips. "Will ya do it already" your mother demanded. "Anything for you, baby". Your father grabbed the belt and was about to whip you but you then kicked him in the groin and he instantly fell. Your mother was shocked which gave you plenty of time to punch her and run out the door. "GET BACK HERE"!

Now was your chance.

You ran into the forest with the only source of lighting come from the moon and the sounds of crickets and your heavy breathing. With every step and every breath, you could still feel their anger boiling because you disobeyed them. You didn't care anymore. At the young age you were at, which was four, you still knew to get away from them. The only reason as to why your parents kept you was because of the money coming in from the government. Soon, you couldn't keep running and felt as if your lungs were on fire. Deep breaths in and out with your parched throat, you could feel your body weaken. Being so young, the desire to sleep was too overwhelming so you fell to the ground and quickly fell into the awaiting arms of sleep.

Before your eyes shut completely, there was something in the trees. Something large. Something long. Something moving. You could also hear a voice that faintly said, "oh my goodness" before you fell into a deep sleep. The pain you felt was so deep and painful but sleep was really needed. With no idea of what was happening around your body. Your mind was still so young and innocent but you started to hint at depression.

But that can change.

Whatever dream you had was not remembered but you then slowly awake and see that your in a different area. A cave. You groaned in pain but you saw that you had some thin strips of cloths tied off to cover up your wounds. A fire was near the center of the cave and other small objects. You tried to move but you then hear, "I wouldn't move if I were you".

You immediately froze. You didn't say anything and only shook in fear. "Awh, it's ok little one. I'm not going to hurt you. I saved your life". You looked around the cave and said quietly, "who's there"?

What you saw next blew your young mind away.

A long snake body was seen descending downwards towards you. The scales were practically glowing from the sunshine that was shining through the mouth of the cave. You once again shook and tried to move but the body of the snake was now blocking the exit. "Easy little human. It's ok. I already said I won't hurt you". With more fuel added to the fire, the flame rised up and made the cave more illuminated and you saw something truly horrifying. A very long snake with an upper human torso.

"My name is Dimitri. It's nice to meet you, awake". Dimitri chuckled a bit and you were of course still scared. "Your wounds are still healing but don't worry". Dimitri then pulled out some small plants. "These will help with the pain. I just have to grind it for you". Dimitri then pulled out a small bowl and stick. "While I'm taking care of this for you, why don't you answer some questions for me, if you can".

"O-...ok".

"What is your name"?

"(Y/n)".

Dimitri smiled warmly. "You have a beautiful name. How did you get injured"?

"I fell".

Dimitri frowned. "You fell? You must fall a lot. I've noticed other scars on your body when I was bringing you back here. Are you sure you fell"?

"Yes".

Dimitri didn't really believe you since you answered so quickly and he even noticed some scars that were too big to be caused from a fall. "Ok. Why are you out here? Hopefully your parents aren't too far. I can return you too them-"

"NO"!

Dimitri got scared by your sudden outburst and almost dropped the bowl. He looked at you and saw the immense fear when he mentioned your parents. "What's wrong"!? You said nothing and held your knees close to you as you still continued to shake in fear. Dimitri set the bowl down and slithered towards you. When he got really close to you, you had tears fall from your eyes. He was just too scary. "Shhhh shh shh shh. Little one, relax. I already said I wasn't going to hurt you. Why don't you want to go back to your parents"?

You said nothing. Dimitri was waiting for an answer but then it clicked. "They did this... Didn't they"? After a moment, you slowly nodded your head. He sighed heavily and got closer to you. He reached his arms out to gently take you but you inched back. "It's ok. It's ok". He gently picked you up and gently cradled your small body. You were terrified but you saw his face so clearly now. He wasn't so scary up close. He looked so calm and caring. "I'm so sorry, little one. They will never hurt you again. I promise".

You were shocked to hear such a calm and soothing voice comforting you. You've never heard such a tone like that before and it made you start to cry. Dimitri held you a bit tighter and gently bounced you up and down. "It's ok. Your safe. I've got you". You knew that this was so different and very strange but considering it was giving you the comfort that you desperately needed, you accepted it. "I promise you now, I'll protect you. Those monsters won't ever hurt you again. I promise". It felt so relieving to hear the words you always wanted to hear.

"Now, I must finish making your medicine. It'll taste bad but at least the pain will go away". You nodded and he placed you around his stretched coils. They didn't wrap around you, it was more like a protective wall but with scales. You felt calmer around him but still uneasy considering what he actually was. He finally finished it and gently held your chin up. "Here, drink up". You drank the bad tasting medicine water mixed with those plants and started to gag. "I know it tastes bad but it'll help you". You kept drinking it and he made sure you didn't get it on you.

"There you go. Good job little one" he said smiling. Dimitri took out a small cloth and cleaned the edges of your mouth. You were still stunned. Why is he being so friendly? "I...i-..i"

"Is something wrong"?

"Why are you... Being nice"? Dimitri smiled and put the cloth down. "Truth be told, little one, when I saw a poor, little and helpless human... I just wanted to save you. I know you must see me as a monster but I'm not so cold hearted. I could never leave you alone out there like that, especially with those injuries. It would pain me. You understand, right"?

You nodded and Dimitri smiled. "Good. Now, are you hungry"? You nodded your head eagerly. You were starving. "Then let's get you some food, shall we"? You nodded and smiled at him.

I think you're gonna like living with him...

Ok, I know this is a bit different from what I normally write but I've been thinking about writing this for awhile. I didn't know whether or not this should be fanfiction or something else but I was gonna put "X Child! Reader" regardless, so I just went with the fanfiction category.
