Was I too much when I said I didn't want a clean slate from him? Besides, bakit siya sa akin nagtatanong? He should've asked my brother dahil sila ang magka-away.

Ang sakit ng ulo ko nang pumasok ako. I didn't get enough sleep because I kept thinking the encounter I had with Lander.

Hindi ko naman siya dapat isipin pero hindi ko mapigilan. Feel me?

I ran my head with my hair because of frustration.

Nang nasa cafeteria ako para kumain.
Namataan ko si Christoff na papalapit sa akin.

"Laki ng eyebags mo, ah?" puna niya kaagad nang makaupo. "Hindi ka ba natulog?"

Nakatulog naman ako pero saglit lang. "Sila Angela?" I shifted the topic.

"Nando'n sa faculty," he said. "Ano'ng gusto mo, Mon?"

"Siopao na lang," I replied. Tumayo siya para bumili. Ako naman ay tiningnan ang sarili sa salamin. Do I look that awful? Napahawak ako sa mukha tsaka bumuntong hininga. Damn. Kasalanan 'to ni Lander.

Nang bumalik si Christoff bitbit ang pagkain ay kaagad kong nilamutak iyon.

"Malapit ka na mag-birthday, ah?" turan niya.

"Yeah, bilis ng panahon," I told him.

"Tanda mo na, dude. Bente ka na!"

"Yeah. I don't know if I should be happy. When I was a kid, I was so excited to grow up. Ngayon, I feel like I'm not yet ready to welcome adulthood."

"I feel you, Mon. This phase is really knocking on our doors and we don't have option but to live by it."

"Kaya nga e. Magbo-board ka pa muna."

"Yizz. Pero sisiw lang 'yon," pagmamayabang niya.

"Yabang mo!"

He laughed. Christoff is taking Civil Engineering and this man's really a beast when it comes to Mathematics. He aced it even without exerting too much efforts. May mga tao talagang sadyang gifted. Unlike me who really have to work my way up to achieve what I want.

"Si Neo?" tanong ko. No'ng huli kaming nag-usap ay hindi naman siya nag-open up. So I'm guessing there's really something going on with him.

"Hindi ko pa nakakausap, e," he nonchalantly replied.

"Is everything alright with him?"

He didn't reply.

I tilted my head, assessing him. "Christoff," I told him in a warning tone.

"Look, Mon, it's not my story to tell."

He's right. Hindi ko na lang pipilitin 'yung kaibigan ko. If he wanted privacy then I'd give him that. Kaya after no'n ay nag-message ako kay Neo but there was no reply from him.

Sabi nga ni Christoff hintayin na lang naming mag-kwento si Neo. So I did.

The next day, Neo was back again flirting with different women. I guess he's okay now.

OrangeBug is a famous magazine company that publishes swoon worthy articles. When I pursued Journalism, my parents asked me if I was really sure of the profession I wanted to be in so I told them I was. Given the fact that I have passion for writing, my professors told me the perks of taking this field; it's that you get to enjoy travelling and meeting new people from all walks of life. Kaya mas lalong gusto kong i-push 'to. Careers in journalism as what they say don't offer that much money. Madalas minimum wage, and sometimes you get paid by the numbers of articles you published. Pero naisip ko may mga side line opportunities pa naman.
