(Violet)
Now the bad days aren't so great. Sometimes we don't find much to scavenge so everyone has to stick with smaller amounts of rations, or nothing at all. I was always fond of Mary Ann, she's more accepting than others. To be honest I'm surprised she let Alex keep her explosives, but then again it's just her thing. I try to look out for everyone here but sometimes it's just too much to handle.
I often come off rude at first but it's only because I have trust issues. I'm just trying to protect my friends. I guess the only one I'm out to protect is Alex because I've gotten to know her pretty well.
I only hope that the next supply run is easy, we never have this great of a score.
Ever since the great depression and all the diseases, you can't be too sure these days. When everything went to shit, people with weapons were working together. Later on, the people turned on each other. That's just how it goes, they wanted to protect everyone but then became worried about their own safety.

Sometimes I worry about what would happen if the infected came back, how would everyone react? Would they stand and fight them together, or run to save their own ass? Questions that will probably be answered when it's too late. Alex was lucky to survive her encounter with an infected. After dinner I put the leftovers on the rack shelves in the back room, to save for later. I head to the roof where my bed basically is. I have a tent set up on the roof, weighed down by rocks and two sleeping bags inside. Whenever the weather gets bad or if I feel like sleeping inside I'll go back to my sleeping bag in Alex's 'boom boom' room, she is sixteen. I have the feeling that this life hasn't let her grow up normally. When it does, I have a feeling it will happen fast.
I like the roof, it's peaceful and has a beautiful view to see the stars at night. There has to be others out there. I never did care about how the world went to shit because we weren't doing so well in the first place. It's funny when you think about it, a whole bunch of homeless people that outlived a whole lot of the rich. But there has got to be at least a few out there who don't want to blow your head off at first sight. There might be just a chance we could find some new people, take them in as one of us if they wanted. We could build our own world, a better one where no one has to be treated ever so terribly. But the sad thing is, you can't know what good is unless you've seen the bad. We just need the practice, experience, and the people. Then we could save others.
