(Josh)
What in the hell am I doing. I am sitting with the self proclaimed “Queen of the boom” over here and actually enjoying it. It is just the way her hair bounces in slight curls and spikes. She has this aura that shows in her eyes and body language. I have learned that she is a year younger than me but wow, is she mature for 15. And she is so small, I wouldn't bet that she could weigh 125 after being soaked in water. Now she is talking about birds and how amazing they are. The stars can’t hold a candle to the glimmer in Alex's eyes.
No, Josh. Stop. You can’t be fawning over this explosive psycho. Just remember, if the other crazed bioch sees you falling for her friend she will kill me. Just friends, just friends. Hey, if I get flustered and confused again I can pull out that pony ring like last time. I was going to tell Alex that I liked her but forgot everything I was going to say. I then pulled out the ring and started to go all out about it. When she asked to watch that movie with me, I was very excited. I was going to tell her then, too. But Alex seemed attached to the movie, so I didn’t want to disturb her.
When I awake from my daze Alex is waving her hand in my face.
“Hello? Josh, are you alright? Thought you passed out for a sec there.”
Screw it, my story is a romance. I breathe in heavily and look her in those beautiful eyes.
"I kinda like you a lot." I manage to mutter.
I have trouble explaining the look she gave me. It was a mix of surprise and grief.
She looked down,
"Ya'know, the last guy who ever told me that is dead."
"Violet?" I answered snarky
She laughed, "Mostly her, yeah."
"Yeah," I paused for a moment, "do you like me that way?" She huffed a yeah.
"Then do you want to go out? There is nothing much else to do here. Violet doesn't need to know." I nudge her slightly. Alex looks up quickly. I give her time to think. Standing, I turn to go back inside but Al catches me as I touch the ladder.
"I would like that. I think I would like that a lot." She says, her voice raised to reach me. Hearing her response, I sat back down.
She laughs to herself,
" Violet already doesn't like you, what will she do now? Goodie Josh, it was fun knowin' ya."
Of course, I'm scared of Violet. But, on the bright side, if Alex likes me I don't think Violet will do much. We sit in silence, a new wave of emotions crashing down on my mind. My big brother would be proud. When I find out who did it…
It was most likely that scumbag prince. I'll show him what-for. But for now, I'm here with Alex. She starts humming something, at first it doesn't sound like much but soon she sings words. It was a pretty song of the stars. I look over to see her smiling, eyes closed.
The song repeats a few times before I join with her. Alex's eyes open a bit to investigate the new voice. I got half of the words wrong and most likely ruined the tune. She didn't care.
Frankly, neither did I.
After a while of chatting, I offered to go inside. Before I could get up, though,I felt her lips meet mine quickly. She ran down the ladder and back in. Alex went straight to Mary Ann before I could stop her. Mary looked at me with a concerned expression and shook her head slowly. Later that evening, Violet found out through Blake who overheard Alex and Mary Ann. I could feel it when she knew because there was an angry cry from the main area.
I flew out of the door and made a circle to the back window. Alex was there when I climbed in and I hid in a pile of smelly blankets. Violet didn't come in for a few hours. She left again to find me.
Stupid bitch.
