(Violet)
After the pestering night went away the sun arose and he began to get ready for the day. After gently waking up Espen we get ready as well. I think to myself,
“Another entire day of walking ahead of us, lovely”. I'm starting to wonder if the others have noticed by now. Probably, Alex is a smart kid.
Josh is... nope still a maggot.
Mary Ann is smart but laid back. Eventually I'm going to get my chance on killing this guy.
"You ready yet? Long morning ahead of us." He asks.
"Figured as much." I groan. Splitting what little rations I have for breakfast with Espen. The man watches me the entire time, cautious of my movements.
"If you're wondering, I'm not giving you any of my food." I respond annoyed. He chuckles before rolling his eyes.
"I'm not worried, there's a feast waiting for us when we get there. That's if you cooperate." He continues.
"Hard pass." I snapped at him.
After the sun has finally completely come up we head out. Him still keeping a cautious eye on me.
Espen stays close by me as we walk further down the trail. "So how long until we get to this stupid place?" I ask.
"It's not stupid. And we'll be there by tomorrow afternoon. Why? Got somewhere else better to be?" He says as he glances back over at me.
"Yes, actually, I don't think this place is worth the walk. Anywhere is better than where you are taking me." I snap.
"Sounds like you have people to go back to. Family? Friends? Boyfriend?" He says, raising an eyebrow.
"Excuse me?!" I say offended. What makes him think I have a boyfriend?! Oh judgmental people these days who think they know everything. He's far off, far far off. This just gives me flashbacks of her. "Just tell me where they are so I can take them to heaven too." He stares.
"I guess you'll just have to kill me, I'm not telling you shit." Snapping at him. He growls and raises his gun, pointing it at my forehead. He clicks the clip back annoyed.
"Well? What are you waiting for?" I say quietly, looking at the gun. Memories of her and I fill my head. I don't feel like he's going to shoot. I'm too useful and he knows it. Plus he is too hesitant.
