(Alex)
Oh my god oh my god oh my holy almighty god. She is back. Violet has returned! I gotta kick her ass.
“Good morning sunshine!” I see a tiny bench so I prop it up next to the bed.
“Ya know what's funny? Hilarious actually...you NEVER TOLD ME about you LEAVING for DAYS! Ha ha ha, so funny! Why did you do that? I thought you were dead, Or worse!”
Her eyes were slightly opened so I knew she could hear me. I placed my hands carefully around her face, and started to slap her cheeks. Not too hard, but enough to wake her up. “C'mon! Wake up and explain yourself!” I started to slap harder until she put her hands up to block. Not gonna lie I was relieved.
Mary Ann rushed in to see what I was yelling at, and she pulled me away from Violets' limp body.
“Get off of the girl! Calm down Alexandria this moment!” Mary Ann looked distressed and tired. The wrinkles on Mary Ann's face have gotten more apparent since we left the museum. I think it has been 2 weeks since we found this place.
I yielded after that and stepped away from Violet. I couldn’t take seeing her like that, confined to a bed and unable to move a bunch. I did the only thing I could think of. I went to Josh. I know he isn’t a good person and talking to him is like speaking to a wall of rocks, but I still think he is hot. I think my hormones are getting to me.
He was in the back room, fiddling with a crank generator and battery charger. A  portable television was in front of him, and movies were strung about. I don’t know a bunch of math or reading, but I suspect about 20 movies were in a pile. He acknowledged my presence and invited me to sit with him.
“Blockbuster was nearby. Happened to have these movies and this lovely thing.” He held up the crank and continued to turn it.
“See Al, all I need to do is crank this for a while and then turn on the tv! Say, you want to watch one with me? You can pick.” He seemed to be in a good mood.
I scanned the covers till I saw the words ‘My Boy’. Two smiling children were on the box. He seemed to notice and picked up the movie.
“Hmm, yea this will do. Ok then, come back in an hour and I might have enough power to play this one. I already have been here for 3 hours. My arms feel like jelly.”
I continued to sit but couldn’t help but smile. We conversed for a long while until he stopped spinning the crank and unhooked it from the battery recharger. He then took 4 batteries from the recharger and plugged them in the television. Josh pressed a few buttons and the small screen turned blue. He popped the movie and I couldn’t help but be in awe at the technology. Music started to play and we were met with a girl who said ‘Hi, I’m Vaida.’ I replied with “Hello.”
Josh laughed and I realised my mistake and told him to shut it.
The movie went on and when the boy died, I cried and cried until Josh awkwardly hugged me and told me that everything was ok.
I love that movie now.
When the movie was done, he took it out and put the disk in the case. Then, Josh took out another and put it in. “This one is called ‘The Dinner Club’. It’s really good and you’ll love it.”
We ended up watching movies until the batteries gave out. By that time I was exhausted and walked to my little area where I slept near Mary ann.
Today was better than expected, and I got to see something that I only heard of before the world went to crap.
