(Zoe)
"I-I'm Zoe.. I'm only asking to stay here until I can get back onto the road." I say, thinking of the possible ways they can be dangerous. The old woman sighs her anger away as she looks over at me. "You may stay as long as you need." She's too kind, if she's kind to the wrong people it'll get her killed….
"Thank you." I say as I walk to what used to be a soda section and take a seat. I don't know anyone here yet but they all seem really kind. I glance over to notice a guy around the same age watching me suspiciously, his American pit bull watching me as well.
Looking away from them I look over, keeping in check on who is all here. I want to make sure I know this population. Are they a group now, or were they a part of a different group? The only woman looks familiar. Wait.. That place was important to Alex. Shit, I think these are runaways from that big museum! I think I saw them run off when I hid from my group. Well my old group, after what they did, I don't think I would ever feel safe with them again. These people can't know, they might attack me. The guy with his dog seems worried about something but it sure looks like he doesn't trust me.
I scavenge through my small sack for any food. Nothing but what could be fruit. Great, raising my gaze I notice the old woman walking over. I watch her cautiously, closing my bag quickly. "It's okay hun, I thought you looked hungry, here." She says, offering some canned beans.
"Thank you." I say with a soft smile. God, I'm so hungry.
After she gives me the canned fruit she nods with a kind smile and walks off. I'm starting to like her more than the others. Using my knife I cut open the top of the canned beans and begin eating. Kind of gross but I really don't care, I haven't eaten in days. My food ran out a few hours after I fled. I only had canned soup and it didn't last long. Hunger eventually drove me out of my hiding spot. After the can is empty I set it aside and get up. Walking over to the old woman to thank her.
I don't know how else to but hug her. She hesitates before giving a warm hug in return. It's been so long since I've experienced a kind touch. I miss this. I trust her more than anyone here, she's a good woman I can tell. I guess it just depends on how much I trust her after she finds out.
Returning back to my spot I notice another guy around the girls age. Wait a minute he looks familiar. I-...  Is that Josh?!
