Chapter 16: The Battle

Bella, Edward, Renesmee, Jacob, Potter, Liam, and I were at Charlie's house.

Bella was in the kitchen staring at the window.

I stood up and walked over to Bella.

"The snow is starting to stick," Bella said.

"Hey we still have today," I said trying to calm her.

Bella looked over to see Charlie and Sue working on something.

"I'm so glad Charlie found somebody to take care of him," Bella said trying to change the subject.

"Bella, no one's giving up here," I said softly.

"All right! Present time! Let's go!" Charlie called out while clapping.

"Seth, Leah, stop eating," Charlie scolded.

I went over and sat next to Potter making him stop his conversation with Seth.

"Jake, you start. Get going," Charlie said.

Jake grabbed a gift from in front of him and passed it to Renesmee.

Renesmee smiled big at him and took the present.

"What did you get me?" Seth asked me.

"I'm not giving you anything," I said to Seth.

"Hey! No, come one, what did you get me?" Seth asked.

"Well, Dad, we didn't have time to wrap yours, but here it is," Bella said handing Charlie a card.

Charlie went over to sit in his chair and looked up at Bella.

"It's a 5- day fishing trip to Fraser River," Bella said.

"It's for you and Sue," I said.

"You leave tomorrow," Edward said.

"Wow, that's really nice. Thank you," Charlie said.

Charlie shook his head, "Tomorrow? I can't leave tomorrow,"

Sue walked in, "I made arrangements for you at work,"

Charlie looked at her, "Sneaky. And extravagant,"

"And non-refundable, I'm afraid" I smirked.

"You three trying to get rid of me?" Charlie asked.

Bella and Edward looked down and I bit my lip anxious hoping he won't find out.

"Because it's working!" Charlie chuckled.

We all smiled.

"Fraser River. That means we'll be chasing Cutthroat," Charlie said to Sue.

"We might even hook a Rainbow or some Bulls," Sue said sitting down next to him.

"Woman knows her trout," Charlie said.

Bella kneeled beside Renesmee, "Hey beautiful. Let me see,"

Renesmee handed her mom the bracelet Jacob gave her.

"Jacob made this for you? Wanna put it on?" Bella asked.

Renesmee lifted her wrist and Bella clipped it on.

"It's so pretty," Renesmee said.

"It is really pretty," Bella said.

"That was made by him?" I asked sounding surprised
