"Dad, I can't stay long, I'm already telling you. Marami pa 'kong gagawin." I sounded so tired.
[I just want to check on you.
"Sorry, Dad. College is making me crazy that's why I can't stay that long." I sighed. "But fine, I'll try to stay a little bit longer than I said."
[Okay. I'll see you later.]
I don't know how will I act towards him. I don't know how will I talk to him. He will be a stranger to me. Like I didn't know him at all.
I spent half an hour on the shower. After showering, I decided to wear an off-shoulder grey dress and paired it with my white heels. I made my hair into a simple braid. Hassle 'yon. Luckily, I arrived at the place 10 minutes early. Ayaw kong ma-late, baka kung ano pang sabihin sa'kin no'n.
"You're early." I almost jumped when I heard him.
"Dad." I kissed his cheek before hugging him. I suddenly felt happiness but I couldn't understand why... or I'm just denying it inside?
"How are you? I know it's been a long time since we last saw each other so, please forgive me for not giving you enough time. I'm really sorry, anak." He started, looking so sincere.
"It's fine. Sanay na naman po ako. I just want you to know that I don't have any ill feelings towards you." I smiled at him.
He look down.
"Let's just order." I picked up the menu before calling the waiter.
"Just order anything you want." He urged me to order.
"I don't know what to order."
"Maybe you'll want some Cordon Bleu. As usual." He chuckled.
"Okay. I'll have this one." I pointed at the Cordon Bleu plate. "And, uh, can I request something?" I asked the waiter.
"Yes, Ma'am."
"Can you replace the Mozzarella with Monterey Jack?" I'm just craving for some Monterey Jack cheese so I asked.
"Of course, Ma'am. Is that all, Sir, Ma'am?"
"Wala ka na bang gusto, anak?"
"Wala na po." I simply answered.
"That would be all. Thank you." He smiled at the waiter.
We talked about my studies and he asked me if I'm already comfortable with my current condo unit. He also asked about my friends so I told him they're fine. He gave me a lecture about college life before the food arrived.
We just talked and talked while eating. Surprisingly, this moment is not the one I'm over-thinking a lot lately. I felt comfortable talking to him. It's like when I was still a kid.
