Chapter 18

"Surprise."

We almost jumped when we saw our friend Lily from Long Island, New York. She was with her bag, I think she just came straight from the airport and no one welcomed her. She didn't tell us since she's really secretive and private when it comes to things. Maybe because she suffered a sorrowful childhood and she brought it until she became an adult.

"Hoy! Loka ka! Bakit hindi ka nagsabing uuwi ka?!" Singhal agad ni Ella.

"Hindi ka na naawa. Kadarating lang ni Vale, sinisigawan mo na." I ran to her side so that I could hug her. I smiled when she hugged me back. Nagsunudan na rin sila kaya naka-group hug kami ngayon.

"I just wanted to surprise you, guys. By the way, my aunt sold my unit so technically, I have no home for now." She still looks emotionless, like it's not a big deal for her. Kung ako 'yon, iuuntog ko 'yung tiyahin niya sa pader. Wala silang karapatang gawin 'yon dahil kay Lily nakapangalan lahat ng iniwang ari-arian ng mga magulang niya.

"What?!" Hind na napigilan ni Ella at napasigaw na siya. Hinila ko na lang siya para hindi na siya magwala.

"Uhm... That's fine! You are very much welcome to live with me!" I caressed her shoulders to make her feel better.

"Sa'kin din! Ako, wala akong kasama sa condo." Ella smirked at me.

"Bakit? May roommate ka na ba, Casey?" She looked at me.

"Eh sino pa? E 'di 'yang manliligaw niya. Si Limuel Indigo." Yza pointed at Limuel.

"Tanga." I pulled her hair. "Hindi kami magka-live in 'no! May bahay 'yan na sarili, hello!" I denied. Totoo naman talaga!

"Are you two together?" Her brows furrowed while pointing to me and Limuel.

"Not yet." Umiling ako. Nakita kong bumagsak ang balikat ni Limuel bago siya umiwas ng tingin sa amin.

"Oh." Her mouth formed an 'o' shape.

"But..." I pursed my lips before looking at Limuel. "We're getting there."

His face immediately lit up and he's slowly turning red. His ears were all red, even his nose! He's fucking blushing! He stood up to go out in the balcony, sinundan ko lang siya ng tingin while my mouth slowly formed a smile.

"Ehem..." Yza cleared her throat. "Respeto sa mga hindi crinush back ng bestfriend nila." She said while glancing at Polo. He just raised his middle finger at her which made us all laugh.

"Paano ika-crush back? Eh hindi naman alam." Ella chuckled. Polo just made a face before laying down on the sofa.

"So, paano ka na ngayon? Pwede ka naman makitira sa'min. Sa condo ko, oh?" Andi pointed at us.

"Oo nga naman." I added.

"Nah. Thanks for your concern, guys. I'll just buy a unit in BGC. Actually may nahanap na 'ko bago pa ako makauwi dito."

"You don't have to. Pwede ka naman dito sa'min, kahit kanino sa'min. Itago mo na lang 'yang pera mo para sa tuition mo at pangangailangan. Hindi mo na kailangang bumili pa ng bagong condo." Pangungumbinsi ni Andi.

"I'm fine. May nakukuha pa rin naman ako sa naiwan ni Daddy. Don't worry about me." She smiled. Pero alam naming hindi totoo 'yon. She is still hiding a secret from us, but we don't want to butt in, of course.

"Ang tagal mong nawala ah. Tapos hindi ka man lang nagcha-chat sa'min or call. Wala ka bang Facebook or Instagram?" I asked her.

"I don't have time for social media. I need to take my course seriously." Oh, yes. Her course was like the hardest among all. Naririnig ko pa lang 'yon, alam ko nang hinding-hindi ko ito kayang igapang, kahit anong yaman ko pa.
