Chapter 16: Rose Gold Promise Rings

"Keep that same energy when we get married." Baji told the blonde haired man that was currently trying to hop on his back. "Oh don't worry, I will." Chifuyu grinned as he tried again for the umpteenth time to jump onto his companions back but to no avail. "Oh my god you're too tall!" The blonde grumbled and gave up on attempting to mount the others back. "Whatever do you mean?" Baji turned and smiled innocently at Chifuyu.

"Fuck you mean? You're too tall, if you don't shrink I'll break your kneecaps." Chifuyu threatened the ravenette, jokingly I hope. "If you do that I'll be in the hospital and won't be able to marry you." Baji pointed out and Chifuyu started quoting tiktoks. "I need some money..the fuck I'ma do wit two hundred?!" Chifuyu exclaimed as they walked into the jewelers. The counter was marble as well as the floor. Displays of silver and gold jewelry was spread across the store in glass cases on tables covered in gold velvet table covering. People walked around, gazing at the beautiful earrings, necklaces, rings; almost any type of jewelry you can think of.

"Hello! Welcome to Yeong Jewelers! My name is Ayaka. Please let us know if you need anything assistance." An employee greeted the two as they entered the store. They thanked her and began looking around at the rings, Chifuyu awestruck by almost all of them. "Which one do you like?" Baji asked the blonde once he finished glancing at each of the individual rings about fifteen minutes later. "All of them! I don't know how to choose!" Chifuyu groaned in frustration.

"Okay, let's narrow it down a bit, which color do you like most?" Baji asked, his work smarts finally being useful in everyday life-though it's not everyday you go ring shopping with a very beautiful blonde guy you just started dating not even an entire hour ago. "Gold, wait no silver. Silver compliments my eyes super well. I think.." Chifuyu started intently at the rings as if death staring them down would help him come to a conclusion. Though, oddly enough, it did actually help him come to a conclusion.

"Rose gold! That one right there." Chifuyu pointed to a ring with an infinity symbol around the band, studded with diamonds across the front. "That's nice, do you see the match to it?" Baji asked, leaning over the smaller male. "It's right here," Chifuyu pointed at the matching ring which was also rose gold with a black rim and an infinity symbol made from implanted diamonds in the center. "Alright, let's get them before someone else sees them." The ravenette said and by the time what he said registered in the blondes' head he was already halfway across the store ready to talk to the employee that greeted them. Chifuyu left where he was standing and hurried over to his black-haired companion.

"Hi, could you show us that pair of promise rings over there please?" Baji asked the woman, nodding over to the table they were not even an entire minute ago. "Of course," She responded and followed the guys to the case of rings. "This pair right here?" The woman made sure while pointing at the exact pair of rings the two were eyeing. "Yes ma'am." Chifuyu confirmed and stepped aside for the woman to retrieve the rings.

"Are you two getting married?" The woman asked the duo as she took the rings out of the case. "Ah, no. At least not yet." Baji answered this time, taking Chifuyu's hand into his. The blonde's face flushed at the statement. "Ah, I see! Sorry for assuming." Ayaka apologized and set the rings on top of the case. "Would you like to try them on to see if they need to be resized?" She asked as she slipped the rings off the finger mannequins displaying them. "Yes please." Chifuyu nodded eagerly and Ayaka handed him the ring so he could slip it on his finger. Baji watched as the younger slid the ring on his ring finger though it got stuck right below the tip of it.

"Yeah you'll have to get that sized up," The ravenette chuckled as the blonde struggled to get the ring off his finger. "I'd say maybe a size nine." The employee suggested to the duo as she handed Baji the other ring. Baji took the ring and thanked her as he slipped the ring on his finger, finding that his ring finger was a bit too slender and they'd have to get his ring sized down as well.

"Alright, I can go ahead and check these out or you two can look around a bit more and see if you find something you like more." Ayaka told the two as she got the rings back from them. "We'll settle on these, thank you." Chifuyu said to her and slid his hand into the ravenettes'. Ayaka nodded and took the rings over to the counter where she scanned and boxed them. She asked for the ravenettes' number so she could contact them when the rings returned from being resized.

"Alright your total will be sixteen hundred two forty eight yen. Will that be in cash or card?" She asked, the customary script she'd rehearsed for hours at a time rolling off her tongue with ease. "Card," Baji said as he pulled his debit card out of his wallet and waited for Ayaka to indicate that he could swipe it. "Alright, you can swipe your card now." She said, tapping something on the screen that made the payment terminal light up blue indicating that the ravenette could swipe or insert his card.

"Wait, lemme pay for some of it at least! I'll settle for even a third of it, that's a big sum of money ya know." Chifuyu told the older, trying to reason with him. "No need, you can pay me back with love and affection." Baji told the blonde as he swiped his card, grinning over his shoulder at him when the payment terminal read 'Transaction Complete'. Chifuyu pouted but didn't protest since there wasn't much he could do now.

"All right, you'll be contacted in three to five business days regarding your rings! There's also a three year warranty on them so if anything happens in that time frame we'll be sure to take care of it! You two have a wonderful day!" Ayaka grinned as she waved at the duo, the two smiling and waving back. "Where should we go next?" Baji asked as the two exited the store. Chifuyu thought for a minute before shrugging and glancing around.

"I'm hungry, can we get some dinner?" The blonde asked, shifting from one foot to the other as they stood waiting for the light to change so they could cross the road. "Sounds good to me." Baji agreed, intertwining his hands with the youngers' before they both went across the crosswalk to the sidewalk. "After we get something to eat can we find somewhere to rent a movie or something? I wanna watch a KDrama." Chifuyu requested, linking the ravenettes arm with his. "Sounds good to me." The older agreed and they went to find someplace to eat.

"Your room number is six-hundred eighteen. Enjoy your stay!" The man working at the front desk said as he handed Chifuyu the keycard to their room. Chifuyu was tired but Baji on the other hand was anxious about spending the night in the same room with the blonde..again. "Thank you!" Chifuyu smiled and waved and the duo went to find the elevator. "Is it this way?" Baji asked, turning a corner a bit too quickly and almost slamming into the younger. "I think so." The blonde shrugged and looked around for a sign that showed where the elevator was. "I think we took a wrong turn..nevermind! Found it!"
