Spanish Bonding

I open my eyes slowly, then close them again while I'm adjusting to the harsh light.

"London?" Someone's voice asks far away. I try to open my eyes further but am once again blinded by the light. I squeeze the person's hand and hear them sigh from relief.

"Leila?" Once I've opened my eyes I see the Spanish defender sitting next to me smiling.

"Good morning Sleeping Beauty. How are you feeling?"

"I thought I told you to go to your team?" I say.

"It's the next day. Mapi is here too, she's just grabbing some water."

"Ok, I'm really tired."

"You can get some more rest, your teammates will be here after recovery. The doctor said you could possibly leave later today if you want to travel with them."

"Right, why do we change cities so much?"

"I don't know, do you want me to get the doctor?" She asks brushing a piece of hair out of my eyes.

"Sure, Mapi would be mad if she found out I woke up and went back to sleep before she was back." I sit up a bit more with help from Leila. Mapi comes back and she puts the water down and hugs me.

"Glad you're awake London. Do you want some water?"

"Sure," I say. Leila goes to get the doctor and I sip my water and talk a bit with Mapi.

"Are you going to come back to Spain and recover?"

"I haven't even thought about it. I guess so, I mean where else would I go?" I ask.

"London, the States, Holland."

"I'll probably be in Spain, I should talk to the club though."

"Which club is it?"

"I'm glad to see you are awake, London. How are you feeling?" The doctor asks.

"I'm good. Doesn't hurt too much."

"We have you on some pain medication now so that is to be expected. We can discharge you in a few hours with the brace and crutches depending on the mobility you have. I will come back in another hour so we can check that." I thank her and she leaves the room.

"So, what club?" Mapi asks again.

"What do you mean what club? She plays for Arsenal, remember?" Leila says confused.

"You haven't told her?"

"Technically you're the only person who knows outside of Jill and Lia."

"Tell me what?" Leila asks.

"You didn't tell the rest of your team either? You don't need to tell the US girls but your team should know!" Mapi continues.

"I know! But I didn't want to tell them just before the World Cup so I thought I would do it afterward."

"Are you leaving Arsenal?"

"That was stupid," Mapi tells me.

"Thank you."

"Someone fill me in!"

"I'm going on loan."

"Where?"

"That's what I'm trying to figure out!"

"You can't tell anyone, it's not being announced until after the World Cup."

"Fine, we won't tell anyone. Where?" Mapi rushes out.
