I somehow managed to get to the hospital a couple of miles from the house. I stumbled in seconds away from collapsing and made my way to the desk.

"Help, doctor," I silently cursed my limited English. We had only lived here for a month, maybe two.

Thankfully the nurse, or whoever was at the front desk, understood what I needed and they ran to get someone. I looked down and saw the white tile floor spotted with my red blood.

"Sit down sweetie," Someone said as they pushed me gently into a wheelchair.

The red on the white floor, my blood, I can't even tell where it's coming from. I'm too young.

11:00 a.m.

The white floor was almost blinding under the fluorescent lights as we were all sitting in some weird area of the hosptial. A waiting area maybe? I don't think I've ever been in one.

The white tile floor was all I could focus on.

"Your teacher said that you aren't talking Anika. You need to be talking to get better at English."

I was in the counselor's office again. At least she had a translator for me. Apparently, I wasn't learning English well enough.

"Do you understand?"

I nodded in her direction.

"Use your words Anika."

How could I use my words when all they'll say is the horrors I face at home.

Why me?

"You with us London?" I look up to Jill.

"Yeah, sorry."

"Nothing to apologize for, the nurse just came by to say they didn't have an update yet," She says. Jill sat down next to me and rubbed my shoulder.

"Everything will be fine London."

"I know," My gaze was fixed on the floor, my red shoes.

The red on the white tiles.

My hair was stained red this time. Just the bottom but after it didn't come out after half an hour I resorted to cutting it. About three or four inches maybe.

The nice nurses had let me practice stitches one time, I had gotten good at them, to say the least. I watched my once blond hair, now a light red, drop to the floor. I looked in the mirror and saw my nose was still bleeding. I couldn't feel anything at this point.

I grabbed a tissue and plugged my nose so the blood didn't drip anywhere.

I didn't have school anymore, meaning I was stuck in the house all day. Maybe I should go practice football? I didn't know if I physically could though.

All of the floors are white. The school floor, the hospital floor, they're white.
