Someone knocked on the door and Daan went to answer it.

"Hey gals!" I heard, guessing it was Lisa judging by the accent.

"Hi," I said as they came into the kitchen.

"Hey London, settling in all right?" Viv asked.

"Yeah, the girls have been really helpful."

"That's good, they can all be a bit much."

"Yeah, I can imagine," I sighed. Jackie called me again but I declined it in favor of getting to know my teammates.

We ate dinner and the story of my life became the subject of discussion.

"So, you're from Delaware, and played with the Washington Spirit. That's all we know about you so," Lisa started. "What's your middle name?"

"My middle name?" I asked confused.

"Yeah, its after your first name and before-"

"I know what it is Jill. It's Adelaide." I said, which technically wasn't a lie, I just didn't tell them all 3 of them.

"That's pretty, now dogs or cats?" Jill asked.

"Dogs." I said taking a bite.

"Favorite National Team?" Daan asked with a raised eyebrow. I pondered this for a moment. It was the Netherlands but that was a tad suspicious since they didn't know I lived there, or that Jackie was my cousin.

"I don't know." I said simply.

"It should be the Netherlands," Jill said pointing her finger at me.

"No way! England." Beth said.

"Scotland." Lisa said leaning back in her chair.

"Let's say the States," I said trying to avoid them persuading me their team is better.

"That's even worse." Daan mumbled. I rolled my eyes and took a sip of my water.

"How old are you? I don't think you told us." Viv asked.

"18."

"When's your birthday?" Beth asked.

"It was last week," I said under my breath.

"Really! We should have a late celebration!" Jill said.

"It's fine, I don't really celebrate that much." I said shutting down the idea.

"Okay, but next year we are doing something small if your still here." She said. I shrugged, they would probably forget anyway.

After Lisa and Viv had left we were watching a movie. I tried to focus on it but my phone buzzed every 2 minutes so it was hard.

"I'll be right back." I excused myself after it hadn't stopped for 10 minutes. They nodded and I went to my room to call my old teammates. Tori was the one calling me now so I answered.

"Hello?" I said timidly bracing myself for yelling.

"Hey London. Why did you just leave? You didn't even tell us you were planning on going somewhere else!"

"You guys know what was happening at home." I defended myself.

"Yes, at home, not in D.C.. So why did you leave?"

"This was a great opportunity! And you have no idea when or where it was happening! You only know it was happening! Did you ever think I may not want people to know? Rose found out by mistake, then she promised she wouldn't tell anyone. Then everyone knew, so I'm really sorry for not wanting to stay there. And playing here is going to benefit me so much in the long-run!" I ranted with tears building up.

"This is a good opportunity London, but you still could have told us! And we've known for like a month why is it a bad thing all of a sudden?"

"It's been a bad thing! Did you all seriously not notice that I never hung out with you guys anymore? Really?" She didn't respond to that causing me to scoff.

"I've got to go. Don't call me again, bye." I hung up and took a deep breath. I wiped my eyes and checked my face in the mirror. I looked fine so I went back out to the sitting room and sat back on the couch next to Daan.

"Everything okay?" She whispered as I sat down. I nodded not taking my eyes off the screen. I didn't care that my old teammates hadn't noticed me slipping away, that I had stopped going anywhere with them other then training and games. At least that's what I told myself.

The movie ended and we went to our rooms to go to bed. I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep well since all my thoughts were still controlling my mind. I laid down and closed my eyes trying to will sleep to take over. What it did was show me memories of what happened in Delaware. I snapped my eyes open and sat up. I couldn't think about that, it was behind me now.

But these things never stay in the past when they affect your future.
