Error is an ai that has its base programming wrapped around destroying all life in existence. He was created by a Gaster as a living weapon that went out of control and destroyed his home au. Error had learned to hack into the multiverse and was forced by his primary objective to continue to wipe everything out. Error's body crashes when he is overwhelmed by his programmed emotions. He also crashes to do extreme self repair. His body is made up of nanotechnology and so are his strings.
His soul is actually the core of his processing unit. But all his data can easily survive the destruction of his body as long as some of his nano survives. Magic is stored in every part of his body through nanites. As Error learns to be a living being though his object to destroy looses its meaning. He can't stop though as he was still a machine and bound to his primary objective. It doesn't he can't procrastinate and ruin his own work however.
(I can't help but think that Error is the perfect definition of an ai bent on destroying the world)
