Error had a plan. A fell safe if Ink actually succeeded in his stupidity. The multiverse was filled to bursting and Error's hard work just couldn't keep up with the demand. Universes were starting to fall and any effort to help on his part was constantly sabotaged by countless people trying to end the destroyers existence in any way possible. So finally giving up Error pressed the big red button......metaphorically speaking anyway.

What was the solution you might ask well compression. Error compressed the multiversal data as small as possible and stuck it into the original universe so that everything could stabilize. The side affects were unknown, but obviously there would be some. The results were extra landmasses of shrunken aus and tiny residences were placed in the underground. Monsters shrank to palm sized creatures that would eventually be called bitties.

Many decided to live in the now empty underground as the monsters had left it to the surface. It was safer for their tiny lives and would allow them to keep their community. Humans were far more dangerous towards them then their larger original counterparts. They also needed structures and communities their own size and not the giant ones above. Their miniature aus were still intact and uniquely connected to each other. Seeing the endless space of Outertale before walking down a path into a candy land.

(Maybe they never leave their new underground shelter in the first place as their not dumb enough with those darker aus not to realize how humans would take advantage of them.)

(Now I got the thought stuck in my head of each au being little floating islands connected to each other and the original Sans not knowing what to do about the fact he has the entire multiverse hidden in his basement.Lol)
