- Thalia's Pov -

For the last two months, I have been checking the post box. Every single day. I was awaiting a letter from the Visa company. If they approved it, I was going to be working in Egypt as an egyptologist. The Cario museum offered me a job. I was all set to go.

There was one little problem.

A certain God Of Mischief.

Since that day in the pub, Things have been going steady but we are still not dating. I heard my phone go off. I was going to check it as soon as it went off. But I wanted to spend some quality time with Chris. He didn't realize a game of Mariocart would take that long. It really wasn't just one game. Chris had somehow convinced me into a rematch game. And then another. And another.
"So, I hear you got yourself a boyfriend" Chris cracked his neck after a few dozen games. I quickly checked my phone, Hoping it was Loki but no, It was Uber Eats. I was laying on the floor, waiting for the post. I frowned at my best friend. How does he find these things out?
"You hear? Since working for your Uncle, Has it become common that people report back to you on me?"
"Hey," Chris said with a chuckle and raised his hands in defence "Word gets around. So, Are you dating Loki?"
"Dating sounds so tacky" I responded. I wiped my face and attempted to put myself in the right frame of mind for this conversation "Do you want me to see if he has a friend?" I turned with a cocky grin.
"Is he really THE Loki. The God Of Mischief?" Chris sat next to me.
"Yeah, he is" I groaned as I lowered my head "Is that going to be a problem?"
"Why would it be?" Chris shrugged. I stopped for a moment.
"Did you know?"
"I knew who Thor was. He works across the pond. I didn't know his brother was here" Chris sighed. I knew he knew something. He pays more attention to paperwork than I do "Look, I'm not trying to check up on you. I was just surprised is all" Chris spoke. I often worried that Chris worried perhaps too much. But I would be the same if the roles were reversed.
"Come on," I said as I stood up "I need a break from the floor"
"Soooo, what's he like?" Chris creaked his back.
"For me to know and you to find out," I said as I opened the fridge pulling a bottle of water out. Loki and I, We ain't dating. I would ask him out but I am so scared of the answer. He has become such a good friend.
"You could invite him here for game night. I promise to behave, I promise and I won't get all judgmental and stuff" Chris pleaded. He gave me his best puppy dog look. I rolled my eyes.
"No" I spoke. I drank a full bottle of water in one hit.
"Please" Chris begged.
"Besties don't beg" I narrowed my eyes at the man "And the answer is still no"
"Please"
"No"
"Please"
"Please"
"No"
"Please"
"Please"
"No"
"Please"
"No. And that is my final answer" I snapped. I stormed over to the sofa and flopped on it.

After a little while, I finally snapped. Using what strength I have, I pushed Chris against a wall. I turned my hand into metal.
"Fine!! But you step one foot out of line. I will kick your arse" I held my fist up by Chris's face. Chris wasn't afraid of me. He was the only one who wasn't.
"Only if you don't get to use your powers" Chris smiled at me as he pushed my hand away.
"I'll talk to Loki tonight. I'll invite him to games night IF he wants to. Don't go all Chris on me and force the matter" I warned.
"Scouts honour" Chris held up 3 fingers on his right hand. I narrowed my eyes.
"And you can't invite my Nanna"
"OH COME ON! I love a game night with Pru! She kicks all our butts at card games" Chris sulked. I looked down my nose at him "Fine"
"I don't want her to meet Loki just yet. You know what Nanna is like"
"Oh come on. Pru will love him. She knows him from the bookstore" Chris pointed out "I still find it weird that Loki has a hold over you and you have one over him"
"You find everything I do weird" I could only shrug.
"Swear you're being vague on purpose" Chris leaned back against a wall. I emptied the washing into the washing machine.
"Now why would I do that?" I chuckled. I didn't like Chris knowing all my secrets.
"I don't know. Maybe to pay me back for prying" Chris tilted his head at me.
"I'll do that when you have your own love life, which by the way, is nonexistent" I rolled my eyes. Chris poked his tongue out at me, Pushed himself off the wall and sat on a stool.
"Tills, I have to ask. Do you love him?" Chris stared at me. I held Chris's gaze for a minute before looking away. I let out a soft sigh.
"Yeah. I don't know why. I just feel this pull towards him"
"You really are loved up" Chris scrunched his nose up. I put my finger over his mouth and looked at him. Chris pulled his head away "Carry on"
"Thank you. I can't explain this pull. I feel as if I have known him my entire life. I was in love with him after a day of meeting him" I looked at Chris who had this weird grin on his face and his hands cupping his cheeks "What is with that look?"
"What look?" Chris tried to look innocent.
"You got this weird grin on that creep ass mug of yours" I waved my hand around Chris's face. Chris did that pouty smug face as he shrugged.
"I'm listening to what you have to say" Chris clapped his hands together "I never thought I would see you in a relationship" Okay, I have to come clean. Time to tell the truth.
"Chris, The thing is. I ain't in a relationship with Loki" I sighed as I sat next to the shook man. Chris's mouth hung open.
"You're not! How is that even possible!" Chris's voice was sort of high from the shock "You two are in love with each other!"
"You can still be in love with someone and not be with them" I looked at my water "Loki... Loki, He doesn't know how I feel. I know he cares a great deal for me and I care for him but with the impending letter from the visa company, I can't tell him as I feel"
"So you're just going to let this feeling eat you up?" Chris reach over to the fruit bowl and took a banana off it.
"Pretty much. I want Loki, In every way possible. I would give up my dream to be with him" I laid my head on the counter.
"You would give up EYGPT?" Chris choked on a piece of orange. He pounded his chest "Sorry. Tilly, You need to tell him how you feel and fast"
"I can't. I tell him. I stay here" I declined.
"Loki would never let you give up something that you have worked so hard for" Chris spoke as he stood up and started pacing.
"You only do that when you are planning something" I sighed as I lifted my head up.
