Nicolas' pov:
I was really hoping she would open up to me right then and there, but she didn't. And honestly, I'm not surprised. Just bummed.
I want to know more about her. Her family, her favorite things, what she likes to do and so much more. I want to know everything about her, from her. But I kidnapped her. How can I expect her to tell me her whole life story? She doesn't trust me. Yet."Excuse me, Boss?" Bruno said from the entrance to the dinning room, interrupting my thoughts.
He's a good man. I trust him with my life, that's why I'm having him watch over Winter when I can't.
"Yes, Bruno?"
"We have all her stuff here. All except the bed. We returned that. But the maids are taking care of her belongings in the room." Bruno smiled.
"Thank you, Bruno." She said with a grateful smile.
"You're welcome Miss." He smiled at her.
I cleared my voice reminding them that I was here. He's like a brother to me and he knows what she means to me so he knows better than not to do anything, but that doesn't mean I didn't like how they were looking at each other.
"Bruno will be your driver," I explained to Winter. "To and from your job. Your taking school online so you don't have to worry about going there. But anywhere else you go, he goes. He's your bodyguard when I'm not around. And sometimes even then, he'll be there."
"Oh... is that really necessary?" She asked not seeming to pleased with that.
"Yes," I didn't mean to snap."I'm sorry. But I've made enemies. Kinda goes with the title. He'll protect you with his life. And he's someone I trust very much. You'll be just fine."
I saw her jaw clench. She didn't like that for some reason. And I doubt she'll tell me know. I'll ask about it later.
"Can I get some coffee?" She changed the subject.
"Of course," I looked at my maid standing by the window that sat behind Behind me. "Miss Amy, do you mind making her some coffee?"
She nodded and scrambled off to make it without saying a word.
"Bruno, you're excused now."
After Bruno left, I heard Winter humming softly to a song. It was so relaxing and soft.
"What song are you humming too?"
"We don't talk about Bruno. It's from the new Disney movie Encanto." She said with a big smile.
"I haven't seen it. Why dont they talk about Bruno?" I asked, genuinely curious.
"You'll just have to watch it and find out."
She giggled. I have never heard giggle or laugh. It was like music to my ears.
What part of her isn't beautiful? What part of her isn't perfect?Just then, Amy came back with the coffee and laid it in front of her.
"Thank you, Amy," She took a sip and sighed. "I needed this. Like always."
Amy smiled and nodded her head. And I saw Winter frown. She must be wondering why she hasn't said anything. She is mute. She lost her voice in a accident when she was little.
"Thank you for breakfast too, Amy and Nic. It was delicious." She said, after finishing her meal.
"You're welcome." I didn't think it was the best to tell Winter about it now. I don't want to embarrass the girl.
"La mia bellezza, let me show you the city today." I made a bold move and leaned forward and put my hand on top of her soft small one. Im glad she didnt pull back.
"Sure, I'd like that."
"Oh," I pulled out her cell phone and went to hand it to her but I pulled back.
"I put Bruno's and my phone number in it as well. I know you're gonna need it. But," I slipped my finger under her chin and looked her dead in the eyes to let know im serious.
"I'm trusting you with this. If I find that you made a text or a call for help, I will know. And there will be consequences. Am I clear?" I don't want to frighten her, but if it'll get my point across than I'll have to.
She nodded her head. "Crystal." She whispered.
I didn't move yet. I wanted to make sure she truly understood. I wanted to know if she was lying or if she was hidding anything. But I didn't see any sign of it. So I finally let go and gave her, her phone.
And I couldn't help but leave a tenderly kiss on her head.
"Good." I got up and leaned forward down to her ear. I felt her shiver as my lips grazed her and it made me grin at what I do to her body.
"Don't make me regret this." I warned. I really hope she's smart about this.
I told her I'll meet her in the living room. I had to take care of a few things before we could explore some of new york.
I have a few places on my mind. One being times Square.
"Bruno." I called out to him when I saw him in the sitting lounge.
"Hey, wassup Boss?" He smiled.
"Need you to pull the car up around. I'm gonna take Winter sight seeing."
"Will do." He got up, stopped and turned around. "How many guys do we need to bring?"
"Just 3 should be fine. Have 5 of my best hide in the shadows just in case. It's gotten to quiet. I don't like it."
"You got it Boss." He pulled out his phone and started texting the guy's. "She's cute by the way."
I glared at him with a warning look. He raised his hands in defense.
"You know I won't try anything. I'm just stating facts. Plus," he raised his left hand revealing a golden ring. "I'm a married and loyal man."
I nodded. Him and Melissa are having a child together. When I saw him meet her, it was like she was the finish piece to complete a picture or a painting.
"He's gonna try and use her. You know that... right?"
I sighed and nodded. "Yeah. I'm aware of that. Keep your eyes open. And see what our inside guy knows. Haven't heard from him in a while."
"You got it." And he left.
He'll use anything or anyone to get to me. He wants my power. He wants everything. I won't let him. He thinks he got away with killing my father.
"You'll never touch her, Lucien. And I will kill you for my father."
