Winter's pov:
It wasn't the scars on his chest that caught my attention and made me gasp. Good heavens it was that beautiful body of his. It looked like someone sculpted him perfectly with his six pack and tight chest. Despite the cut in his abdomen, which I just now notice, and a few bruises, he is perfect.
"Don't move." I ordered, turning around, not only to grab the supplies I needed to stitch him up, but also to compose myself. I could feel the heat rise in my cheeks and my heart beat rapidly. Why does he have to be so beautiful at the most inopportune times?
"This may hurt." I warned, using the hydrogen peroxide to clean is wound before stitching it.
"I had him in my grasp." He said out of the blew.
"Who?" I furrowed my brows in confusion.
"Lucien." I paused what I was doing and looked at him. "But then someone shot Bruno.... and he made choose. Him or Lucien."
As he told me what happened, I continued stitching him up.
So many things were running through my head. Lucien is pretty clever. It makes me wonder how long he's been planning all of this and... why? Why go through so much to have Nic's title? What's his story? And I don't believe he's working for someone. He's so adamant about being king, why would he work for someone else right now?
"So... Lucien works for someone else? Are you sure?" I asked after he finished the story.
"No. I'm pretty sure he was bluffing." He answered. "But my brain was doing 210, trying to figure out what to do. I didn't want to break my promise to you, but I also didn't want to lose Bruno." I could tell he was trying his hardest not to break into tears.
"Nic-" I started saying.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry about everything. I'm sorry for what I told you before. I was just angry and hurt. But that doesn't give me the right to say that. I'm sorry baby. And I'm so sorry for breaking my promise. But I-"
It was my turn to cut him off. I stood on my knees and grasped his face. "Do not apologize for letting him go. You had to. To save someone you love, you had to. I'm glad you let him go. Bruno is a good friend. We couldn't bare to lose him." I paused, deciding its my turn to apologize. I couldnt put all the blame on him like that. I was just as mean. "And as for what you said, it hurt. Alot. But, I forgive you. Your were angry and hurt. Which I must apologize for." I looked deep into her eyes. "I know what you're doing is protecting me. Even though I don't like it, I understand. What I said was harsh too. Words were exchanged that had no truth behind it."
"Thank you, mi principessa." He said, giving me a relief smile.
I smiled in return, let go and stood up. But before I could stand all the way up, hr grabbed my wrist and pulled me back to him. I gasped in surprise, placing my hand on my leg to catch herself.
He caressed my cheek gently. I noticed his eyes kept going back forth from my eyes to my lips. I knew he wanted to kiss me. I mean, I wouldn't stop him.
"I haven't thanked you for what you did for Bruno." He paused. "For me."
He leaned in and kissed me. I kissed him back almost immediately. His hands were in my hair and my hands were on his firm chest.
Our kiss started slow then progressed into rough and fast. I let him take control. His lips soft, just like his heart. I know sometimes he has to put on a mean face to protectthe people he loves and mostly for his job, but deep down, he's the biggest teddy I know.
"Gross." A low sick voice spoke, breaking our kiss. "Get a room you two."
I gasped, snapping my head around. "Bruno?"
