Y/n POV

"Is there anything in particular that you want to watch?"

Aone was looking at me similar to how you look at a lost kitten. It made me feel small, and maybe just a little protected. Asahi looked at me a lot like that during storms too.

"Umm, not really. Maybe something funny? Or a kid's movie?"

"Oh! How about Avatar: the Last Airbender? I mean its technically not a movie but its still pretty good!"

"That sounds great!"

Aone told me to go ahead and sit on the bed and he got his computer set up for us to watch on. Once he got set up he crawled in the bed to sit beside me. We were leaning up against the headboard, I had grabbed a really soft looking blanket and a polar bear plushie to hold! I don't know if Aone even realized it was still on his bed before I came in. I had seen the slightly panicked look on his face when his mom mentioned me sleeping in here so I had tried to be slow making my way here so he could clean up anything he saw fit. I decided not to tease him for it because he hadn't said a single negative thing about me being afraid of storms!

I felt my phone buzz on the mattress beside me and glanced to see a message from my bestie!

Hey! I know it's storming over your way and just wanted to check on you since I'm not there to cuddle you!

Well duh!!

I decided it was time to put my phone away and pay attention to the movie/show/whatever-you-wanna-call-it. My eyes were starting to burn and I'm pretty sure someone attached weights to my eyelids! I was just glad that between Aone; Asahi, and the computer I could almost completely ignore the storm outside. I let myself relax a little bit more as the movie continued to play and I cuddled deeper into the blanket around me.

Aone's POV

I felt a sudden weight on my shoulder and looked over to see (y/n) had fallen asleep. Or she seemed to be asleep at least.

I thought for a moment that she may have just been resting on me but then I heard really soft snores coming from her. It may have been slightly evil of me (or maybe really kind) but I decided to not move for the remainder of the episode, which thankfully had literally just started, so as to not disturb her!

Her phone buzzed on the bed next to her. I hadn't meant to read the message but the notification lit up on her screen.

My chest tightened painfully. I had not even considered the possibility that she had a boyfriend already!

Of course she has a boyfriend! She is literally the most adorable person on the planet! And of course you didn't know because you literally met her yesterday!

I knew I should put a little space between me and (y/n) since she was taken and her boyfriend probably wouldn't like that she was leaning on another guy's shoulder. But I really didn't want to. I wanted to stay like this for as long as possible. Knowing that this would be the only time that I would actually get to experience this.

Of course, being the gentleman that I am, the longer I stayed like this, the worse I felt. So I reluctantly turned the computer off and as gently as I could shifted so I could ease out from under (y/n). It took a little bit of time but I was able to adjust her position so that she would be sleeping comfortably on the bed.

As I was getting my own sleeping position adjusted on the futon beside the bed, a crack of thunder ripped through the sky outside. (Y/n) jumped and grabbed my hand that was reaching for the spare pillow on the bed.

I don't think she was actually awake as her eyes weren't even open and the words that came out of her mouth obviously weren't meant for me.

"Asahi, I'm scared."

Her voice was slightly muffled from sleep and it came out barely above a whisper. But I still heard it. And my heart broke a little bit more.

As she settled back down her arm hung off the side of the bed and her grip on my hand stayed rather firm. Instead of wiggling my hand free. I accepted that this was the only time I would get to do this so I kept holding her hand as I got as comfortable as I could and tried to get some sleep.

Sleep definitely didn't come easy. If I had been a little more like Futakuchi I probably would have cried myself to sleep. But that's just not how I am. I'm not saying it's strong to not cry when it calls for it. I just don't cry most of the time. Plus, if I had cried I would probably end up waking (y/n) up and that was the last thing I wanted.

As I lay there the name on (y/n)'s phone and the one she had called out kept running through my head. Asahi...that name sounded really familiar but I couldn't quite seem to place it. I know I had heard it before but I wasn't sure where.

Had (y/n) already mentioned him and I was too distracted to catch on? I mean, I do find her very distracting, so it is entirely possible.

Gosh! Why do I have to be so dense! Of course she doesn't like me! I'm just a big scary brute!!!

For once, the nickname that everyone had called me, mostly behind me back, hurt. It hurt more than I cared to admit.

Luckily, I am the Iron Wall, and it will take more than that to bring me down! But only being friends with (y/n) and nothing more...ever....was the first crack.
