WITH A SUDDEN CRACK!, David was alerted that at least someone had returned home that night as he sat in the kitchen with his heart racing and palms sweating.

He soon enough discovered that it was Claudia, Regulus and Kreacher since the house-elf slowly passed the dark kitchen with a groan and then disappeared, and soon after came Claudia and Regulus.

None of them noticed David however, since he was sitting there in the dark without making a sound. Honestly, the man had no idea why he didn't just cut straight to the chase, but the way Claudia was holding onto Regulus who seemed to be a mess made him quiet for just a moment.

He eventually followed after them, however, only to stop right outside the drawing room where the two had entered and then closed the door.

David realised quickly that he couldn't hear them anymore, which meant that someone had casted a silencing charm on the room. So, even though he was ashamed to do it, David used his own little spell and blocked the silencing charm to hear the conversation that was going on on the other side of the door, merely because he was certain that he already knew what they were talking about.

"Come here," said Regulus, who was completely collapsed on the couch as he watched Claudia roam around the room in search of the book that was supposed to help them figure out how to destroy what they believed to be a Horcrux. "Let's deal with that in the morning."

She turned to him, and with a small nod she sat down next to him, allowing him to immediately lean his head on her shoulder as she began nervously tapping her fingers against her leg.

"Stop that," Regulus whispered, grabbing her hand. "You're okay."

"I know," she responded. "I just...what if we didn't think this through, Reg?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, what if he finds out that we've stolen it?" She whispered. "What if something bad happens? What if..."

"It'll work out," Regulus whispered back. "Don't worry. And, besides, if he does find out I'd like to see him try to hurt us. I mean, after what I just did against the Inferi to save you I think we can both conclude that I'm bloody amazing. You've got me to protect you now, Dia."

She chuckled, "I'm glad."

"Good," he said with a weak smile. "But, since we're at it, why the hell did go down to the water?! You could've died, Claudia-"

"You couldn't breathe you were so thirsty," Claudia said. "I know it was stupid, but I panicked. Wasn't gonna let you die on my watch."

Regulus nodded understandingly, "I wasn't gonna let you die on mine either."

Claudia smiled faintly, squeezing his hand comfortingly, "Reg?"

"What?"

"You've still got the locket, right?"
