IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, somewhere in the state of California, two cars were on the road. In one car was a woman and a man - more commonly recognised as the Archer couple - and in another car, the red one, there were four other people.

John was driving and humming along to whatever song the radio was playing as Regulus, who was sitting next to him, read his book in complete silence. In the backseat, Claudia was completely passed out with her face smushed against the window and Ella's head leaning on her shoulder, for the other girl was about to fall asleep as well.

Until she wasn't.

You see, if anything, Highway to Hell by AC/DC playing on the radio was of course going to wake Ella Archer up. And not because it was a loud and pretty damn great song. No, it was fully and completely because of John, who immediately put on quite the show.

Regulus' attention on his book was immediately broken as well as John turned the sound up and began screaming the lyrics like a crazy rockstar, barely even looking at the road. Regulus laughed and John smiled. In the backseat, however, angry looks took over.

"I'm on the highway to hell!" The man sang. "On the highway to hell! Highway to hell! I'm on the highway to-"

"Shut up," said an annoyed voice as a shoe was tossed straight at John, who managed to avoid the shoe by letting go of the steering wheel and dodging.

John lowered the volume of the music, Regulus laughed even harder and Claudia rolled her eyes and closed them again, trying to get some sleep since she was pretty darn jet lagged from their trip, just like the rest of them.

"Well, wasn't that unnecessary?" John sighed, glaring at Ella through the rear-view mirror.

"No," Ella said. "It actually wasn't. You were being annoying."

"Okay, Ella, you seriously could've made me drive us off our side of the road just now," John said impatiently. "Don't throw shoes."

"Oh, c'mon," Ella sighed. "If you would've driven off our side everybody would've been fine. There's literally no traffic here so you might as well drive in the middle for all I care. Which reminds me, why are we even in the middle of nowhere? I thought we were going to find that Newt-guy. I have a hard time believing he's here."

"Your parents are the ones leading the way," said John. "I'm just following."

"Yeah, yeah," Ella said. "But can we please make them stay? I really need food. And I know mom's got food."

"Alrighty," said John, rolling his eyes and alerting the others that they were stopping.

Claudia, who was basically asleep again, was practically dragged out of the car by Regulus as Ella ran towards her mother and begged her for snacks, knowing that Cora kept crisps in the car.
