"DANCE WITH ME?" He asked, and Claudia had to stop herself from saying an instant yes. As always, she couldn't give in just like that. Before she could, she had to be certain that what she was doing wasn't stupid.

She looked to the side and saw Nicolas looking right at her. Immediately at the sight of that, Claudia took a step back from Remus, but his hands were still kept on her waist.

Noticing her uncertainty, Nicolas merely nodded. He didn't care if she was going to have one dance with her ex she was supposed to stay away from for many reasons.

And he had other things on his mind that night, after all.

It was strange how Nicolas was the first concern on her mind, for he had always kept the two of them a secret in the past, so why would he care so much to tell anyone now?

Well, Claudia didn't understand herself when she suddenly felt that she could say yes by just that little nod. The thing was, she didn't care to see what Regulus thought.

If she would have, she would have seen him watch with weary eyes, for he was very much aware of how Remus had been kissing an entirely different girl about three minutes prior.

Merlin, time moved fast.

Regulus wanted nothing more than to grab Claudia's arm, glare at Remus and take her home after doing so, but he couldn't.

Whatever it was Remus had asked her, Regulus saw her nod to give him an answer, and just seconds after seeing that and preparing to intervene, Regulus met eyes with Nicolas.

And for the first time in very long, he didn't divert his attention elsewhere. No, he kept his eyes on him.

Nicolas shook his head, and Regulus knew that he meant for him to leave Claudia and Remus alone. So, he opted for doing so, not failing to keep his eyes set on the two, however.

"Are you having fun?" Remus asked Claudia as they swayed around on the dancefloor as Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye by Ray Charles played and other pairs of people formed around them.

One of Remus' hands was on Claudia's waist, and the other held a natural hold of her hand. As always, that meant that Claudia felt like she was close to losing all control as the same old sparks appeared all around them.

"It's alright," said Claudia, her eyes kept on her feet as she refused to meet his eyes. "Are you?"

"I am now," he said, and just by the tone of his voice Claudia knew that he was smirking.

She chuckled in a way that made his heart melt, still refusing to meet his eyes as her emerald ones looked everywhere but to him.

"Stop that," she said, still chuckling.
