This is the final chapter of the SDR2 arc.

Lingering onward dreamily
In an evening of July —
Children three that nestle near,

Still she haunts me, phantomwise,

Lovingly shall nestle near.
In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
Dreaming as the summers die:
Ever drifting down the stream —
Lingering in the golden gleam —
Life, what is it but a dream?"
"Welcome to the final class trial." said Mono. "I shall tell Kaito a tale of a dastardly deed and ask him what punishment he thinks should fit the crime."
Mono then told the story of how Kaito killed Angie, without mentioning either's name.
And when Mono had finished, he asked Kaito:
"So I ask of you, self proclaimed luminary of the stars: what punishment would you suggest for someone who did that?"
Kaito replied; "Easy. They should be killed. Better yet, they should be tied to a space ship fairground ride. Then you should turn off the air in it, and spin it so fast the person dies! And by the way, everyone will watch!"
"That person is you!'' beamed Mono. "And you have basically named your own execution. Thus, all the things you described shall happen to you."
Kaito begged Mono to let him live, but his pleas went unheard.
Everyone sat down to watch The Luminary of The Stars himself get put to death in the exact manner that he had prescribed.

"GAME OVER
KAITO has been found guilty. Time for the punishment!"

Kaito was tied up and propped against one of the walls inside a space ship fair ground ride.
"Self Inflicted Torture.
Ultimate Astronaut Kaito's Execution: Executed."
Meanwhile, Mono (as the fair ride operator) pressed a button.
At once the air switched off.
And he pressed another button.
The fair ground ride turned fast as hell.
In canon V3, Kaito was protected from the intense pressure and G-Force of space and died instantly, feeling nothing.
Here, Mono had done things in order to make the Luminary of the Stars' death slow and painful.
As the fairground ride spun, Kaito was unable to breathe.
His face turned red, then purple, his internal organs and bones were crushed and blended to pieces, and his blood boiled.
The last thing he saw was Kaede watching in horror, tears running down her face.

Everyone else had chosen to look away. The fairground ride that killed Kaito was slowing down.
Then it stopped.
"Sorry I was unable to do what I do best!" said Mono, as walked over to the pictures and moved 4 of them.
He pressed the button.
Tenko and Kokichi's pictures both changed to a pool of blood, Angie's picture spider web cracked, and Kaito's picture changed to his lifeless body.
Just then, the cruise ship appeared.
"Did you enjoy your field trip?" The teacher asked Angelica.
"Yes," said Angelica. "It was fun!"
This was only half the truth. She'd left out details like the Killing Game had taken place there or the sand was really made of people.
Had the teacher looked more closely, she might have noticed that there were 12 new piles of sand on the beach. But no one commented on it.

"Now time to begin the casting for our third game!" said Mono as he watched the cruise ship sail off with the survivors. "The Mono Cubs will return, but Naomi is dead! Junko seems to have recovered from her disease, and we'll return to Hope Peak!"
