This is the third game's theme song.
"Turn your face towards the sun
Let the shadows fall behind you
Don't look back, just carry on
And the shadows will never find you
Turn your face towards the sun
Let the shadows fall behind you
Don't look back, just carry on
And the shadows will never find you
Lost in the rock and roll
Got lost in a promise of a love I never know
Shadows chase me far from home
I remember when my heart was filled with gold
And you know I've been burned
I've been burned I've been burned
You've seen me lose control
It's not worth it's not worth it's not worth
My soul
Turn your face towards the sun
Let the shadows fall behind you
Don't look back, just carry on
And the shadows will never find you
Lost my faith and trust
You and I know gold don't turn to rust
I still swear that we can reign
Like the kings and queens of better yesterdays
Don't you know I've been burned
I've been burned I've been burned
You've seen me lose control
It's not worth it's not worth it's not worth
My soul
Turn your face towards the sun
Let the shadows fall behind you
Don't look back, just carry on
And the shadows will never find you
Where you gonna go where you gonna go where you gonna run to
When you get to the edge of the night
Its time you face the sky
Turn your face towards the sun
Let the shadows fall behind you
Don't look back, just carry on
And the shadows will never find you
Turn your face towards the sun
Let the shadows fall behind you
Don't look back, just carry on
And the shadows will never find you
Turn your face towards the sun
Let the shadows fall behind you."REVIEW TIME: Despite being the worse game in the DR franchise, V3 was one of the fastest-paced games in the entire DR franchise. The trials were short, and the executions were short and fast-paced, different from SDR2, which was the longest game in the series. In SDR2, the trials were long and slow paced. It was exhausting to watch the trials. The executions were slow paced and bad. Trigger Happy Havoc was just about perfect in terms of creative executions, fast pacing, relatable characters, and playful references to other anime franchises. The suspense of that game was amazing, and I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next. I fixed all three of those games in this fanfic. In terms of V3's changes, I changed the death order, the story, the setting (people didn't like it was set in a simulation) and the infamous finale. A frequent criticism of V3 (aside from the simulation setting and Kaede being the first executed) was that the ending was bad. You see, Mono executed everyone in V3's ending. He also destroyed the setting. I fixed all those in this game. In terms of SDR2, the changes were minor. Aside from changing the Neo World setting to the actual island setting (obviously) and changing the executions, the real change is based off a observation: The cast of V3 was fucking weird. They took these otherwise amazing characters and shoved them straight into their talents with little thought. Many a player probably noticed that when they first played the game.
So, I decided to make it my mission to take these weird characters, and tone them down a bit to make them more relatable! For example, Tenko no longer hates men and Kaede isn't the first executed. I think my version of Kirumi's execution was an entirely better way to demonstrate to the cast of V3 the severity of the Killing Game and the situation that they were all kidnapped into. So my readers will be happy that Kirumi was the first executed and not Kaede like in canon, because her execution probably wouldn't have been nearly as impactful and my readers probably wouldn't have been as excited to read the rest of the SDR2 arc when they read it as they probably will be when they read Kirumi's execution. As for V3, I made minimal changes, but I just changed up Chapters 2 and 3. I knew that Himiko's Magic Show in canonical Chapter 2 of canonical V3 wouldn't happen because the cast of V3 weren't in this version. There is no water tank, no piranhas, no magic show here. Meaning that Keebo never got thrown up the water tank by the students like he was some inanimate object. However, Keebo still got thrown into something water in the SDR2 arc, just under different circumstances. I changed Chapter 3 of V3 a lot. Meaning the structure of the chapter is a little different. Instead of Keebo, Celeste returned. That's right. Celeste replaced Keebo as "The Abandoned Student" who came back. Which meant Keebo didn't return looking like a monster, which meant that Kiyo didn't write that horrible story of Keebo being the spoiled "K Monster" and getting humiliated horribly, which meant that Keebo didn't get insanely angry, which meant that he didn't ask Kiyo why he would write such a horrible thing, which ultimately meant that Kiyo didn't explain to everyone that he had a incest lover who died and he was tortured by villagers which caused him to grow this delusional tulpa thing in the first place. I loved the conpect of number trials and crystal ball trials, so I featured them in every DR game in this rewrite!
Fun fact: The V3 arc is the shortest arc in this story.
Now time to move on to DR S...
