Chapter 1 of V3, Part 2: The First Trial 📃

"Where's Yaku?" asked Touko.

"I don't know," said Haka.

A door was unlocked.

The 15 of them walked inside the room and saw a grisly sight. There was the body of Yaku, the Ultimate Heir. He had a neat hole in his chest. It looked like someone had thrown a balloon filled with pink paint on the ground and laid him on top of it.

"Who could have shot him?" asked Sayaka.

The intercom came on. "Ding dong! A body has been found. Now, a class trial shall begin!"

The 15 of them went into a room that none of them had ever seen before.

It was red.

The floor was white and black.

"Welcome to the trial room." said Mono.

"This is your first class trial. Now, who killed Yaku?"

The wheel of verdict appeared, but it now had the new cast's pixelated sprites on it.

Mono spun it.

"I already figured out who killed Yaku," said Akari.

The wheel landed on her sprite.

"I saw a petal from a red rose!" said Akari. "And only one girl wears a red rose..."

(A silhouette appears.)

Akari: I declare the blackened of this class trial to be Maria, the Ultimate Mother!

(The silhouette turns out to be Maria. Everyone gasps.)

"Maria isn't as kindhearted as everyone thought!" said Touko.

"I have a very special punishment in store for the Ultimate Mother," said Mono.

Maria tried to open the door, but it was locked.

"No!" She screamed. "No!"

"GAME OVER.

MARIA has been found guilty. Time for the punishment!"

Maria was thrown onto a wooden board.

"Double Chase

Ultimate Mother Maria's Execution: Executed."

Suddenly, the Mono Cubs appeared, running.

This was a mousetrap!

"I'll save you!" said Maria, running after them.

Little did she know, she was being chased by something else.

Mono himself.

When they'd reached the end of the board, Maria tripped.

Mono pressed a button.

The hammer of the mousetrap came down on Maria.

Splat

Maria's blood sprayed everywhere. Thick splodges of blood painted the mouse trap hot pink and the hammer raised up slowly.

Maria's body was cut in two.

Everybody stared in horror at what had just happened. This was the most gruesome, grotesque thing they had ever witnessed. Akari fainted, falling into Naegi's arms, Haka clasped a hand over his mouth to stop himself puking, Mondo pulled Celeste close to him and Touko silently wept.

Taka was trying his best not to cry, keeping his brave face on. Sayaka screamed. Izuru and Juzo hugged each other and closed their eyes, Ruth had a look of grim determination on her face, and Susie buried her head in her hands.

Sasha hid behind a curtain.

Aoi looked nauseous and Junko looked horrified.

"At least they know what the stakes are!" laughed Mono.

Victims: Yaku

Execution Order: Maria

Bonus: 🌸 Maria's Free Time Event 🌸

"What if you told a lie?" asked Naegi to Maria.

"I would never tell a lie," said Maria in a cool, clear voice. "I'm always honest."

"Do you know why?" asked Naegi.

Maria smiled as if she already knew.

"Lying is a bad offense. I always tell the truth." She said.
