Devin’s P.O.V
Get her out of the way or I will. I read that part of the note a million times. Justin told me to go to sleep, but I couldn’t. He thought it was because of what happened to Dani why I couldn’t sleep, and it partially was, but it’s really what could happen to Dani. As I walked through the hallways of school on this dreary Friday morning, I heard a happy voice cheer along next to me.
“Devin!” I turned to see a smiling Danielle. Damnit, I looked around to see if Emily was anywhere. I couldn’t see her, but then again she’s a crazy little bitch and can pop up anywhere. “Hey, are you ok?” I looked into her perfect big brown eyes.
“Yea, I’m fine. I, um, gotta go. I’ll catch you later.” I said, before turning and speeding away. I heard her call out bye, but I was too far gone by then. I was in search for someone. I finally found her in the same hallway as when she came back.
“Hey babe.” Her voice was like venom to my ears. Every time I looked at her, I wanted to strangle her.
“Don’t you fucking ‘hey babe’ me.” I said while taking the not out of my pocket and shoving it in her face.
“I see you found my note!” She said as an evil grin spread on her lips.
“Yea, I found your damn note! What the hell?” I said fuming.
“I told you directly to get her out of the way! If you can’t handle that one simple task then I guess I’m going to have to do it for you.” She said, while her eyes turned dark. This girl really needs help, in the form of a mental institution.
“How the hell am I going to do that?” I asked sticking the note back in my pocket.
“Get her to hate you.” She said rolling her eyes and crossing her arms.
“Get her to hate me? We’re finally in a good place!” I whined.
“That the fucking problem! Handle her or I will!” She yelled.
“How do you expect me to get her to hate me?” I said through clenched teeth.
“Damnit Devin! I don’t know figure it out. Do whatever it takes. And do it fast because if you don’t get her to hate you by next week Friday, we might just have a little incident and someone might just end up getting hurt, really hurt.” She said smirking before walking away. That gives me a week. A week to tarnish the relationship I worked so hard to re-build. How the hell am I going to do that? I walked back out the hallway and one of my friends came up next to me.
“Hey dude, you coming to Jonas’s party tonight?” He asked gripping my shoulder.
“I really shouldn’t.” I said shrugging his hand off my shoulder.
“Oh come on. It’s going to be one of the best. You have to go, what’s a party without the school’s king?” He said pushing me. Then an idea, a horrible fucking idea at that, formed in my mind.
“You know what man, screw it! I’ll be there.” I said giving him a little handshake.
“Alright! I’ll tell Jonas!” He walked away. I know what you guys may be thinking. What the hell is he thinking? He just got out of rehab! Is he mad? Yes, I’m mad. I’m wacked up in the head, but I think this little plan of mine might actually work. Who did Danielle hate the most? The school’s number one player. Who was the number one player? Me, well the old me. Who can go back to being the school’s number one player? I can. And who’s going to, in result, hate me? Danielle will. It’s a genius plan. This is a full proof plan and all I need is a week to do it. I think I can do it. I really do!
The obnoxiously loud music beat in my eardrums, threating to pop them. I’m not used to parties anymore. I lost my spark, but tonight I had a job to do. I have to reclaim my title as school’s number one player.
“Devin my man!” Jonas said coming up to me. His brown hair ruffled up and his green eyes a little dazed. I could tell he’s tipsy.
“What’s up Jonas?” I said giving him a handshake.
“Everything’s great man! I was worried you’d never show!” He said gripping my shoulder and leading me to the alcohol.
“Well I’m here so let the partying begin.” I yelled that last part. I heard some cheers erupting from around the house. Suddenly a cup of beer was shoved in my face and, like second nature, I chugged it down in seconds. The bitter liquid tingled my taste buds sending a familiar sensation through my vein. I’d need something stronger, and a lot of it, to get me drunk. 10 bottles of beer, 2 bottles of vodka, and a bottle a whiskey later you can probably tell I was fucking wasted! I could tell because I was standing on the bar, shirtless, screaming.
“The king is back bitches! Now, who wants to sleep with me?” I yelled and in response a bunch of girls screamed!
“How about-…?” My words got cut off when I saw the most beautiful person in the world staring at me with teary eyes and clenched fists. “Dani?” I whispered. “Hold on girl, I’ll be back.” I said before hopping off the bar and running towards the girl that was now running out of the house. “Dani! Dani, wait!” I screamed easily catching up with her. I grabbed her arm and pulled her to face me. Her face was tear streaked.
“What the hell do you want, your majesty?” She said through clenched teeth.
“What?” I asked confused.
“You said the king is back, then asked a room full of drunk sluts who would sleep with you. So don’t let me ruin your fun, why don’t you go sleep with your little whores?” She said while some more tears fell down her face.
“I don’t want them! I want you!” I said wiping away her tears.
“Devin, you’re drunk! You don’t know what your saying.” She said trying to turn away. I spun he back around and kissed her. I kissed her like I might never ever get to ever again, which I might not, and she kissed me back. We stayed like this for a minute, but it seemed like forever. Next thing I know she’s running away and speeding off. I walked back into the house and put my game face back on.
“Now where were we?” I screamed and a group of girls surrounded me.
