    “Of course!” Jess exclaims.

Oh, why did I even try?

“No, no you don’t understand,” I take a sip of my Pomegranate Pick-Me-Up. Jess and I have met up at Jamba Juice for a smoothie, and well, I thought, what could go wrong?

            Huh.

Yeah, right.

I was being so stupid! I mean, of course I knew Jess would tell me to take the job! Cameron. Duh. But, I haven’t told her we kissed-yet.

“Are you just telling me this because I can hang out with Cameron?” I inquire.

“NO!!! You guys are neighbors, anyway. It’s not like you aren’t going to see him. I mean, even though he is Tom Green’s son. But, that has nothing to do with it. The Scene is a really influential magazine. It’s all about celebs I know, but whatever. It gives you something fun to do. And, it’s not like I won’t see you and-“

“Ok, I get what you’re saying,” I cut her off. I didn’t mean to, really.

            Jess slurps on her Mango-a-go-go.

Man, I’ve got to tell her to stop doing that! It gets so annoying. But, I figured out she only does it when she’s unsure about something. That something being-well, you know.

“So, are you going to send him something?” Jess finally asks.

“Um, I guess. I’m going to have to make a resume, too. If he’s actually serious about hiring a fifteen year old girl.”

“I’m sure he is. You’re a great writer,” Jess assures me.

“Yeah, I am,” I finish off my Pomegranate Pick-Me-Up.

I wonder if I should tell her about me and Cameron. Gulp.

I turn to her, and am about to open my mouth, when-

            NO! DON’T TELL HER!!!!!!

            Stupid conscience, go away!

            “Jess, I-“ I start.

            She looks at me hopefully.

            NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

“was wondering if you wanted to go shopping?” I finish off, hopefully.

“Sure, I’d love to,” she says, getting up and grabbing her coral purse.

            Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr……………….

            We walk outside.

Melrose Avenue was filled with pop-art boutiques, mostly. We pass all of the little ones until we come to Forever 21. This is probably our favorite store, just because it’s so cheap. They have rings that are only five-dollars. This is rare.

Jess immediately spots a pink bubble dress that she wants to try on. I walk towards the back of the store, where they have all the clearance racks. I look through all the clothes, but I’m too distracted to find anything that looks cute. Should I tell her? I have to tell her.
