“Okay, let’s review!” Stacy claps her hands together as she stands at the front of the room.
We’re having a weekly meeting here at The Scene. This is where Stacy gives everyone their assignments for the week ahead and we discuss any other issues that we might have.
“Alright, Scarlett-you have the American Idol story, right?” she asks a girl with carrot-red hair.
“Absolutely,” she replies.
“Jack, you have to make sure you pick up the clothes for the shoot on Wednesday with Victoria Justice,” she demands.
“Got it,” Jack replies.
She begins barking out more orders until she gets to me. She looks at me knowingly. “I assigned you the We the Kings music video, right?” she asks.
“Yes, you sure did,” I tell her.
Almost instantaneously, Mandy opens her big mouth. “Stacy, I could help Hayley with the shoot if you want. I mean, she is a newbie.”
“No, that won’t be needed. I think Hayley’s going to be fine by herself,” Stacy says.
A look of pure disappointment crosses her face.
This is probably the first time I’ve actually ‘liked’ Stacy. Thank god. I would’ve died if I had to work with Mandy.
“Alright, now, this meeting is adjourned,” Stacy announces.
Everyone shuffles out of the room quickly and back to their cubicles.
I grab my messenger bag off the floor and as I do, I meet Mandy’s gaze.
“Just so you know, I’m not done with you. If you think you can come in here and just win everyone over, then you’re wrong,” she whispers in my ear and walks away.
Wow, really? Just what I need. Something else to worry about. What is wrong with this girl anyway??? If she thinks that she can destroy me, then she is going down. I mean, she can’t destroy me. At all. Those skinny air-brushed arms are about to get broken.
I walk back to my cubicle and turn on my iMac. I start typing up questions to ask We the Kings. It’s not too hard since I’ve already made questions that I’ve asked Ashley. And, I doubt these guys are going to be as bad as she is.

Two hours later (Stacy let everyone go home early, surprisingly) I’m at Jess’s house lounging on her bed with the ceiling fan blowing cold air all around me.
“So, how’s your modeling been going?” I ask her.
“Pretty good-they showed us this slideshow with all the pictures from the previous shoots and I have to say, I looked good.”
I can’t help laughing. “That’s great, Jess.”
“Yup, oh! And the issue comes out this Friday. It was supposed to be next Monday, but they moved it earlier. I’m so excited! You have to come with me when we go pick it up at CVS.”
“I know, I will. Definitely. For sure.”
“How’d The Scene party go?” she asks.
