CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
COLDNESS creeps over my weak body. I slowly opened my eyes only to be greeted by an immense darkness. Despite the inability to see, I know where I am. I am back in the dungeons.
Sinubukan kong maupo mula sa pagkakahiga sa malamig na yelo. My whole body felt numb. I can't feel anything but coldness. My head feels like it got smashed by a sledgehammer. My hands are trembling and my lids feels heavy.
Napansin ko ang dalawang guwardiyang nagbabantay sa labas ng selda ko. Idinukdok ko ang ulo ko sa may braso ko at nagsimulang umiyak. I don't like this place. It's scary and depressing. I need to get out of here as soon as possible or else I would become mad.
Matapos ang ilang sandaling pagtangis, muling nanumbalik ang lakas ko. Dahan-dahan akong tumayo at lumapit sa may rehas na nababalutan ng yelo. Nakatayo sa labas no'n ang dalawang guwardiya. Talagang bantay-sarado ako ha. Well, maybe they learned about how I escaped the same prison they put me in.
"Kuya pwede n'yo po bang—aaaaahhhhh!" Napasigaw ako nang maramdaman ang kuryenteng dumaloy sa mga daliri ko nang hawakan ko ang rehas. Did they electrified the bars!? They are so cruel!
"Please po—ouch!" Mga tatlong beses ko yatang tinangkang hawakan ang rehas bago sumuko. Nanghihina akong tumayo ro'n at tinitigan ang dalawang guwardiyang nakatalikod pa rin sa akin.
"Please just call the prince for me. Tell him I'm here!" I told them. One of them turned around to face me.
"Ayaw ng heneral na ipatawag ang mahal na prinsipe," sagot niya. Heneral? That lightning descendant guy who shocked me with his lightning bolt? I hate him. I loathe him!
"Please, parang awa n'yo na po. Kahit pakisabi na lang na nandito ako," pakiusap ko. Pero ang walang modong guwardiya ay tumalikod lang sa akin. Bastos 'to ah! Humanda ka sa akin sa oras na makalabas ako rito.
Mga ilang beses pa akong nakiusap pero hindi na nila ako pinapansin. So, I had to become creative. I burned the sleeves of their white uniform. When they noticed the flame on their arms, both shrieked and ran away.
"Do call the prince for me—ouch!!" Sigaw ko nang aksidenteng naidikit ang pisngi ko sa rehas. I didn't heard any response from them. If I want to, I can just burn this whole dungeon. But the thing is, there are a lot of innocent sorcerers in the castle and I can't take the risk. So I sighed and surrendered at the corner. I created a ball of fire that is floating beside me to keep me warm.
Mga ilang minuto ang nagdaan at may dalawang guwardiyang pumalit sa mga nabiktima ko. Tumayo lang sila ro'n sa tapat ng selda ko. Of course, I asked them, too, to call the prince for me but they turned me down saying their douche of a general commanded them not to. This jerk is getting into my nerve since I first laid my eyes on him. I know I corrected Lady Flurry about her prejudices but seems like these lightning descendants are all pain in the arse.
Maya-maya pa, may dumating na guwardiya na may dala no'ng matigas na tinapay at nagyeyelong tubig. Pero hindi siya nag-iisa dahil kasama niya si Phoenix na agad tumakbo palapit sa rehas.
"Almaia!" shouted her.
"Be careful! They are electrified!" I warned her but it was too late. She held the bars with both of her hands and screamed.
"What the hell!?" Galit niyang sabi saka lumayo mula sa rehas. I stepped closer to her and I can see the tears on her eyes when the flaming torch nearby illuminated her face.
"Phoenix, anong ginagawa mo rito?" Nag-aalala kong tanong. Sinalo ko ang ibinatong tinapay no'ng kasama niyang guwardiya. Ngumiti siya sa akin at naglakad na palayo.
