CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX
ANG mangyayari ay magpupuslit sila ng lason sa Nevada para lasunin ang kasalukuyang hari. They would do it within this week. I have to stop them.
"We just need to put a mark on the bottle or on the cork," Plamen suggested. They would use a deadly nightshade fruit to make a sweet wine. Deadly nightshade is a poisonous plant that tastes like berry.
"Uncle please, huwag n'yo nang ituloy," pagsingit ko. Kanina pa ako nakikiusap sa kanila. Pero hindi naman nila ako pinapansin.
"We have three maids on the king's chamber. Kailangan na lang nating ipaalam sa kanila ang plano," Flint added. Ugh!
"Uncle Pyr naman. Pansinin n'yo ako," nakasimangot kong sabi habang kinakalabit si Uncle Pyr. Hindi niya naman ako pinapansin at sinasamaan lang ng tingin.
"Kapag nasigurado na nilang patay na ang hari, kailangan na nilang lumayo kaagad bago pa man sila mapagbintangan," Uncle Hayden said. Okay, that's it.
I stood from my seat and slammed the table with both of my fist. The centre of the table sparked when fire came out of my hands. Nagulat silang lahat at sa wakas ay tumahimik sila at napatingin sa akin habang nanlalaki ang mga mata.
"I thought better of you, people. Why would you murder someone!?" I shrieked. I can feel my rapid breathing due to my anger. They all fell silent and just stared at me.
"Hija, what's the problem?" Tanong ni Uncle Pyr sa akin.
"The problem is you and your plans! Why do you need to kill someone? That is so unethical!" I yelled at him. I know, I'm being impolite as of now. But I just can't help it. We are talking about a possible murder here. And if I won't interfere, I would become an accessory to the crime.
"Matagal na namin itong plano, Aurora. The king shall die in order for us to reign. But we can't execute it before because we weren't sure back then who should we appoint as the next ruler. But since you arrived, we finally decided to make this plan happen and you shall sit next on the throne," Uncle explained calmly.
"What?" Iyan lang ang tanging naibulalas ko. I'm totally speechless.
"Ikaw ang napagkasunduan naming iluklok bilang susunod na reyna," Flint added. Agad nagsalubong ang kilay ko.
"Why do you still need to kill someone just to reign!? There are lots of ways to steal the throne," galit kong sabi.
"There are only two ways to steal the throne. First, kill the owner. Second, go on a war," Uncle Pyr said persuasively. The crease on my forehead softened. I won't deny that he's right. They are just into utilitarianism mindset and they chose the first option rather than the second one.
"Why would you want to kill an innocent person?" Syempre hindi ko pa rin pwedeng isuko ang pinaninindigan ko. I would stand on it no matter what.
"Boris Delwyn isn't innocent, Aurora. He killed your parents, remember?" Uncle's reply rendered me speechless. I clutched my fist tightly. Shock was evident on my face. Yes, yes he's right. King Boris killed my parents and I badly want to take revenge. But not in this way!
"I won't agree on it but make sure Blaze will never get hurt. Or else you have to face my wrath," matalim kong banta saka padabog na naglakad pabalik sa kwarto ko. Naranasan kong mawalan ng magulang at hindi iyon madali. Kaya ayokong maranasan 'yon ng iba.
