CHAPTER FORTY-EIGHT
PARATING na sila. Nakikita ko ang mga pigura nila dahil sa mga panaka-nakang pagkidlat mula sa di kalayuan. I gathered all my strength and made a huge ball of fire using my palm. When it was already as big as an electric fan's head, I threw it to the direction of the marching enemies. I heard some of them screamed and I watched as the fire started to surround them. I used my sword to make a huge wave of fire. The red light flashed towards them.
Napasigaw ako nang makitang may patama sa akin na kidlat. Gumulong ako para makailag. When I stood, they are already running toward us. Shocks! They are about a hundred and I am alone. I mustered all my courage and prepared myself for a bloody fight.
Ang unang nahagip ng espada ko ay nahati ang katawan. Umilag ako nang muntik na naman akong matamaan ng kidlat. Imbes na ako ang matamaan, 'yong isang kasamahan nila ang natamaan at nawalan ng malay. Sinipa ko ang isa at sinaksak sa tiyan. Nadapa ako nang may manulak sa akin mula sa likod ko. Agad nilang sinamantala ang pagkakataon at dinaganan ako. Ugh! Naipit ata 'yong intestine ko dahil sa pagkakadagan sa akin.
Some of them tried to grab my hair. Some are kicking me while I'm laying here on the grassy ground. I kept on groaning in pain. Inipon ko ang natitira kong lakas at pinagliyab ang buong katawan ko. Those elementals who are pinning me on the ground got burned in an instant. In just a blink of an eye, they were nothing but ashes.
Gumapang ako para abutin ang espada ko na nabitiwan ko nang madapa ako kanina. I held unto it tightly and activated the flame. I slowly got up, using the sword as a scaffolding. When I finally got my balance back, another batch of enemies are lunging toward me. Kailan ba ito matatapos!?
For a moment, I thought of all my past decisions that led to where I am right now. The times must have been slowed as I watch the enemies dark figures running toward me in a really slow pace. The world must have been halted for a moment as I reminisce everything.
I already went this far. I had lost a lot since the moment I was born. It was like I was born in the cruel world to suffer. Both worlds were mean to me. And when I already thought that I would be happy, the world strikes again and took someone very valuable to me. Para bang ayaw akong pasayahin ng buhay ko. It's so unfair that I need to suffer all those things.
As I look back as to why this is happening right now, I realised our mistake. We underestimated our enemies. We miscalculated and messed up. Maybe here is where it would end. If I would die tonight, I want to die while fighting. I already fought enough but I will still fight even if there's no guarantee that I will win. It's not over until it's over.
Mahigpit kong hinawakan ang haft ng flaming sword ko at inihanda ang sarili. Muling bumilis ang takbo ng oras at naabot na ako ng mga kalaban. I slashed horizontally several times, cutting those who tried to harm me. When they already surrounded me, I had thought of a better way to eliminate them.
Itinaas ko ang espada ko gamit ang dalawang kamay ko at buong pwersang isinaksak iyon sa lupa. I watched several fantasy movies with this kind of scene. They would stab the ground with their sword and then something magical would happen that would eliminate the enemies on the vicinity. To my surprise, it worked.
May pabilog na apoy na lumabas at namatay ang halos kalahati ng mga kalaban ko. I smirked while I watch them fall one-by-one when the flame reached them. Ngayon ko lang tuluyang napagtanto kung gaano kalakas ang kapangyarihang mayroon ako. This isn't a curse at all. This is a gift; a really dangerous gift. This gift never fails to amaze me.
Nagpatuloy pa ang labanan. Kahit pagod na pagod na ako, sinusubukan ko pa ring makipagsabayan sa mabibilis nilang pag-atake. Tila ba hindi sila nauubos. Kanina pang madaling araw kami rito pero andami pa rin nila. The sun, which hid all day over the dark grey clouds, already bid its farewell. We can't see the moon because of the thick dark clouds that envelopes the sky. The only thing that helps me see in the dark is the flame on my sword and the lightnings that periodically lits up the whole battlefield.
