CHAPTER ELEVEN

THE two guards opened a huge double door for me and gestured for me to go inside. I obliged and was greeted by a lavish office. There is a chandelier in the middle; not as huge as the one on the ballroom, though. There are piles of shelves on each side of the room, and table in the middle. There I saw the king, sitting on an expensive looking chair while drinking a tea. The guards behind me closed the door and I was left here with his majesty.

I curtseyed as a way to show respect. He put the teacup down on its saucer before raising his cold eyes on me. I swallowed a lump in my throat.

"You asked for me, sir?" Tanong ko at naglakad palapit sa kaniya. He just gave me a nod as a response.

"What did you do to my son?" He asked in his authoritative tone. What did I do? I didn't do anything.

"Sorry, I didn't quite catch that," I replied.

He disobeyed me a lot of times just to protect you without any cost," he exclaimed in a much louder voice. Oh wow. Why is he pointing a finger on me when he was the one who never did enough for his son? As how I read it, the prince wants his attention that bad; his affection and love. But here he is, trying to blame me for his lacking.

"I don't know, sir. Maybe you should ask yourself what did you do for him to disobey you," I replied with so much effort to remain respectful.

"How dare you talk back?" Uh-oh. Despite being careful, he still got offended. I took a deep breath.

"Sir, I am just suggesting a more probable cause that leads to the prince's action." As much as possible, I should remain as calm as possible.

"I don't know what Blaze saw on you and he took you in. You are not a good influence to my son. You are just like your mother, a villain to the throne." He know who my mother is.

"My mother? You know my mother?" I urgently asked.

"Of course I know your mother. And even your father. Both are greedy and planned to take the throne from me," nakangisi niyang sabi. He must be happy that he touched a sensitive topic.

"Where are they? Where can I find them?" I pleaded. He just reclined on his chair and happily watched my reaction.

"Well, maybe you can find them in the afterlife," he scoffed. Napatigil ako. Para akong nabuhusan ng malamig na tubig. Napako ang mga mata ko sa kaniya.

"W-what do you mean?" Naguguluhan kong tanong. I am scared to hear the answer, but I need to. I want to know what happened to my biological parents.

The king leaned forward, put both of his elbows on the table, and gave me a mocking stare. I could almost feel the pulse on my forehead, beating rapidly.

"I killed them. I killed both of your parents." I was stunned. I tried to sink what he had said to my baffling brain. And when it finally processed his words, my anger ignites. I stepped closer to him and raised both of my burning palms. And in just a split-second, my whole body is already on fire.
