CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
"ANONG ibig-sabihin nito?" Most of the contents were demanding the Royal Family to explain. This is not good at all.
"It means that whoever is behind the ambush had already told the Royal Council about the breach." I couldn't find any insightful theory right now. My mind is lagging.
"Uh-huh? And?"
"And this would debunk your theory. So the attacker and the thief is not the same person. We are tracking two different criminals," he explained. I dropped my jaw when I realised that he's right. I sighed a multiple times to clear my mind.
"If it's not the rebels, then who would ambush your soldiers?" Nagtataka kong tanong. Nahulog kami sa malalim na pag-iisip.
"If not the rebels, then it must be someone who hates us. Someone who wants to ruin the peacefulness of Nevada," he mumbled mostly to himself.
"This must be someone who has a grudge against you!" I exclaimed.
"You know what? As of what I've watched on those detective movies, we should go and check the corpses. He took a really deep breath and nodded. He started to walk towards the door.
"Come on. The bodies are at the morgue," he told me while opening the door. I followed him and he led me out of Nevada. The streets were made of cemented rocks and there are lampposts on each sides of the road. People are all wearing thick layers of comforter jackets, beanies, boots and scarves. I could see old-looking shops from side-to-side.
Blaze went out of the carriage and lent his hand to me. I took it and when I got out of the vehicle, he put his coat over me. I smiled at him as a way of thanking him. I really need this because it's pretty cold out here.
She's about on her forties and having a tanned skin. She's frail-looking but still gorgeous. Her eyes were big and her nose is sharp. She's wearing an all-black clothing inside a white coat. She smiled amicably and courtseyed in front of the prince.
"Good day, your highness. How can I help you today?" She friendly asked. Siya siguro ang namamahala rito sa morgue. Mukhang meron silang ine-embalsamo ngayon.
"Where are my six fallen soldiers? I need to check something on their bodies," the prince coldly replied. Why is he always like that when talking to his people? He sounds anything but friendly.
"This way, your highness."
