Lorelei

Its lunchtime and we're currently eating the food that Tita Martha gave to us. Loki is sitting in front of me and silently eating his food. Habang ako ay medyo naiinis na sa buhok kong parati na lang tumatakip sa mukha ko kapag kumakain. I tucked my hair behind my ears for the nth time.

Napatingin ako kay Loki nang bigla siyang tumayo at umalis. Napatingin ako sa plato niya, hindi pa niya ubos ang pagkain pero umalis na agad siya. I was about to call him again when he came back, so I continued eating my food. My mouth left hanging halfway when I felt Loki held my hair from the back. "What are you doing?" I asked.

"I'm tying your hair, you can't eat peacefully with your hair hanging around" Napangiti ako at hinayaan siyang itali ang buhok ko. Natagalan din siya sa pagtali dahil hindi naman siya marunong. After that, he sat again and continued eating, while I took my phone and open the front camera to see what Loki did to my hair. He did good, although its kinda messy. But the thought and effort of tying my hair still counts.

I smiled again, these past few days I noticed that Loki is acting differently or its just me. Nagugulat ako kapag bigla na lang niya akong tutulungan. I remembered him helping me carrying books or chair for me. One time, I was trying to put the boxes in the upper part of the shelf. Since I'm small, I used the chair so I can reach the shelf but Loki suddenly held me by my waist and put me down. Tapos siya na ang nagtaas ng mga box at nag-arrange.

There were also small things that he did for me. Like wiping my lips or my forehead when I'm sweaty. Putting his bag or my bag to my lap kapag maikli ang suot ko. Or tucking my hair behind my ears, blowing the steam off my hot chocolate drink, shielding the sunlight kapag nasisilaw ako, mga gano'ng bagay. His small acts of service makes me flutter. He may look tough but inside he still has this soft side, one of the reasons I love about him.
