After champion

June

I see him. I see day for the first time in over a decade. I see him pass by me. I hope that he notices me. He turns and looks at me with a confused look.

"Have we met before?" He asks

I have the urge to say yes. "no we haven't" I look at him with a bit of sorrow i assume because he steps closer and asks "are you okay?" I say "yeah i'm just a bit tired" I know he knows i'm lying but instead of interrogating me any further he pulls me out of the crowd and we begin to talk.

"So what brings you here to see me and eden?" He says as as he points as his brother. " oh you know just wanted to see" he asks "do you have anything planned for later?" I simple nod a yes. " i am going to go with tess" instantly i want to take back what i have said. "Tess? As in a girl with red hair?" He asks. "Yes that's the one" i respond with a light chuckle. "Cool i was just about to go there too" he says. "Mind if we tag along?" I shake my head no then we just talk the rest of the way. I knock on the door and am greeted with tess who looks shocked as she turns her attention to day. "Daniel!!!" She screams as she runs towards him getting him in a hug almost making him fall.
"Hey there cousin, nice to see you, i've missed you a ton" he says as they still hug. She meets Eden and i see some sort of connection as her cheeks turn a bit red. I throw a little wink at her which causes her to blush even more. Day chuckles in the background since he notices too.

We all enter and sit down on tess's couch.

"Well june does he know yet?"

I look at her and put a finger to my lip as a form of saying no. She pouts which makes me giggle a bit.
"When are you going to tell him june he needs to know someday"
Day over hears our conversation and asks "know what?"
"Nothing nothing" i say
He looks at me with that confused look again and just turns back to talking to eden.
After an hour or two tess says " june guess what day it is"
She goes to the fridge and takes out a cake. It says HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUNE
I smile and hug tess for the cakes. They all sing "happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear june, happy birthday to you" they all clap and just as i'm about to take a bite i feel my face smash against the cake. I turn around and see tess on the floor just dying. I get some frosting from my cheek and smear it against tess's face. I get off her and help her up. I turn and i see day and eden holding in a laugh. Tess cuts each of us a piece of cake and we all go to sit on her couch. Day sits down next to me and eden sits down next to tess. I see a small grin coming out of tess and burst out laughing. Tess smacks me on the back and we continue to eat our cake. "So how old are you?" Day asks "twenty-seven now"

I look up at the clock and notice it's getting a but late. I say bye to tess, eden and day, day asks me " can i walk you home? I mean you know it's not safe for a girl like you to walk by yourself" i smile and nod. I grab my jacket and me and day start walking. " so what's your history" he asks me. "Well...."
