After champion

Day

I crouch down. I can't believe my eyes. I don't want to see this. He's breathing. Not where it's noticeable but he is. I feel a pulse a small one but it's there. I feel relief take over me. It was eden. They must have found out he was working with the republic to make the bomb and they'll do anything to win. I pick him up and take him to the tent where carter is as fast as i can. I set eden down next to a bed and yell for tess to come in quickly. She comes in and sees eden. She looks at him and turns as white as a ghost. Tess has really fallen hard for eden and so has he. Even if they just met it looks like they met years ago. Tess starts to cry a little and looks at me for information

"He is breathing. He has a small pulse but it's there."

"He's okay. He can make it. As long as he has a pulse he's fine." She says with tears going down her face but with no emotion. It's as if eden was part of her family since her family did abandon her when she was little. How could someone lock their child out like that even in a time like that.
"How long do you think he'll be like this" i look up at her with hope but her face expression tells otherwise.
"Well Daniel i really don't know anymore. That dust bomb must have been near him or directly aimed at him."
"Tess promise me that if anything else bad happens to eden you will call me."
tess starts to tighten her jaw as if she's angry.
"Tess are you alright?" I ask in sort of a whisper.
"Don't say that anything else will happen to him. Don't say that. I don't want to have that on my mind as a what if. I had to deal with you losing your memory and losing everything that happened during those two years and having the thought of you never waking up now this. No. Eden will make it. I know he will."
I just stare at tess in amazement with how much she really cares for eden. I nod.
"Just call me if you need anything okay tess."
She nods and i ruffle her hair a bit and dash off to carter. I see him on the bed sort of nervous.
"Hey carter, did you know anything about the attack today?"
"I did. I didn't know when they would actually do it."
"Do you know anything else about any attacks that will be planned."
"No i do not know of any more. I know that the person they have captured will be tortured and will be manipulated almost as if it's a game. Like this whole war is a game."
I nod my head and leave carter there.
I start to call the elector.
"Any luck yet?" I ask him in a hurried voice.
"Canada has told me that they will allow a search party to look for june.
They will depart tomorrow at 1030. Would you like to come along with then?"
I start nodding my head as if he can see me but i notice and answer with a yes. Why wouldn't i want to come. It's June we're talking about. I want to see her. I want to know she's safe.
"Elector we need to act fast. I have been informed that not only will she be tortured but she will also be manipulated. Almost as if she were playing a game."
"I see. I'll start calling my best soldiers to go search. Meet at the plane in an hour. Things will have to go faster. I'll explain to canada. If you get there and are questioned just say your name. They will let you through."
"Thanks anden. Good luck."
I just realize i called the elector anden. I guess all that hate is going away since he is helping june. I just hope she's okay.
