The winds were blowing harshly against his fur, the air cold but it didn't bother him at all. Nothing bothered him. He has lived his life as a wolf for 10 years now, never shifting to his human form. His human never talked to him, never came forward, always staying at the back of his mind, trying to be as invisible as possible. The last time he heard his human was when everything changed.
This choice was of his human, giving all control to V, trusting V to survive in the wilderness. For 10 years, V has stayed alone, avoiding packs, avoiding any contact, from both humans and wolves. Occasionally, he needed to fight when wolves crossed him, but he usually tried to avoid it as much as possible. V knew that even though his human was unresponsive, the human was still watching, the human was still alive. That's why V never stopped trying to survive. His human needed him to survive, trusted him enough and that was the greatest honor of all.
Even when his own pack had called V a monster, his human had never despised him or rejected him. V was grateful to have the human as his companion.
V trodded forward, following the scent that had enclosed his whole being. It smelled heavenly. He had caught the scent when he had gone to the lake to drink water. This area was new to him. Usually V stayed in the neutral land where no packs claimed any territory. It was safe.
The scent had smelled so addictive, making him restless and for the first time in 10 years, V had felt his human stir. That was solely the reason why V was following this scent, despite knowing it was leading him to a pack territory.
If this scent was enough to get a reaction from his human, then V was going to find the source of the scent, in hopes it would give his human the push to come forward and take control.
The territory screamed alphas, it was the first thing that V noticed. It made him uneasy, made him feel challenged. But he didn't stop, he needed to do this for his human.
Entering the pack territory slowly, he was alerted of two wolves who came forward, taking a defensive stance. An alpha and a beta.
The wolves growled in warning, though it made V feel challenged. And V doesn't like anyone challenging him. He too growled back and that was enough for a fight to ensure.
The wolves were good. That much V admits. It was rare to come across such good fighters but then again, V hasn't had any contact with pack wolves. He had fought off rogues but rogues usually didn't think before attacking. Their moves weren't as calculated as the two wolves before him. Though V was holding back. He wasn't going to kill anyone, especially when he knew the wolves were only protecting their territory.
He sensed more wolves coming forward, until he was surrounded by atleast 13 wolves. The biggest wolf shifted and in his place stood a middle aged man, who hurriedly put some clothes on.
'Shift. You are surrounded,' the man spoke. It was an alpha and judging by his tone and dominance, the head pack leader.
Was he stupid for asking V to shift? V doesn't take orders, he never did. No one tells V to do anything. And this man, this alpha thought he could ? That doesn't sit well with V and so V let out a loud growl, fully emitting his dominance, his rank pushing through.
The man stood shocked, every other wolf backed away a bit. V caught a hint of fear in the air. He knew they now knew who he was.
'Thats impossible. A trueblood?', the head alpha spoke again, his voice trembling a bit. The reaction was normal. Any wolf would tremble in front of V. He was a rare wolf and when he emitted his true dominance, all other wolves submitted. It always gave him an advantage.
The other wolves again took a defensive stance, only this time, they were atleast 4 steps away from him.
'What do you want trueblood? Why are you invading our territory?', the man asked again.
