Jungkook was a hard headed alpha. It was a well known fact amongst his pack, and well, his reputation was also very much intact as one of the scariest alphas out there.

True, he was mostly fair and just. And he hardly initiated wars. He was well loved by his pack because he showed them that he cared. He wasn't arrogant and didn't show dominance unless needed to. But he had a temper that many knew not to play with. Jeon Jungkook was not a newbie and surely not a softie. Atleast for people who weren't part of his pack or close to him.

He had killed his fair share of enemies. He had won his fair share of wars, well, almost all of them. Jeon Jungkook was a force to be reckoned with.

The only problem was, his mate, the trueblood was unaware of that fact. Because Taehyung had stayed in his wolf form for most of his life, 10 years to be exact, he didn't really keep up with the werewolf current affairs. He didn't know about his mate's ferocious reputation, neither did he know about his mate's wicked temper.

For him, Jungkook was a pure soul who could hardly do any harm, despite being an alpha. All those months that Taehyung had spent with his mate, staying by his side, he had seen just the soft side of Jungkook, and perhaps the focused side. He hadn't seen the sadist side yet, and that was going to backfire on him very badly.

His first mistake was underestimating his mate. His second mistake was angering him.

Now, Taehyung was in a pickle. Jungkook sat on the opposite side of the pack office, glaring at him with angered eyes, the intensity of which was making Taehyung, a trueblood, squirm with uneasiness.

It was perhaps his fault for not wording his wishes correctly. But nonetheless, the damage was done and if glares could kill, Taehyung would have been 6ft under by now.

It was 2 days after Jungkook was released from the pack clinic. The poison was fully out of his system and he was back to his original health and strength. These 2 days, Jungkook had been confused and hurt by his mate's behavior. Taehyung was avoiding him. The trueblood had opted to sleep in a guest room rather than Jungkook's bedroom. Whenever Jungkook would walk into a room where Taehyung was, the trueblood will quickly distance himself or simply walk out of that room.

It was frustrating for Jungkook. Because the marking was only done by Taehyung, Jungkook was unable to feel Taehyung's emotions fully. He did feel a little bit of it, and from what he felt, he knew the trueblood wanted him but was hesitating because of something. So Jungkook decided to give the trueblood some time to figure things out. His mate would approach him when he was ready.

Which leads us to this scene in the office. Early that morning, Taehyung had approached Jungkook for a talk.

It went something like this.

Taehyung had led Jungkook to the guest room, only to ask Jungkook to promise him something before he tells everyone about his affiliation with the Bloodlust pack and his past.

Jungkook, ofcourse, was not dumb enough to give a promise without knowing what he was promising.

'I need you to promise me to not let your wolf and the matebond influence your decision. After I tell you everything, I want you to think with your mind instead of your heart. If your mind wants you to reject me, then I want you to promise me that you will follow that. I don't want you to be influenced by the matebond.'

Jungkook felt slightly uneasy by that request. He understood what the trueblood meant. Since Jungkook was marked, the matebond will influence him when it comes to his mate. But Jungkook was no fool. He will always follow what his mind tells him is right. He was angered by one thing though. The tone in which Taehyung said those words indicated that the trueblood thought Jungkook would reject him. It was as if the trueblood was hundred percent sure that Jungkook would take that action.

'Before I promise you anything, answer one question of mine. And be honest Taehyung. You already think that I will reject you, don't you?', Jungkook had asked, his tone cold.

Maybe Taehyung was an idiot for not noticing the tone of Jungkook's voice or the anger in his eyes. Taehyung had simply nodded and replied with a simple 'yes'.

That one answer had Jungkook exploding in anger. It was one thing to be scared of being rejected, but it was another thing to automatically assume the worst. How dare the trueblood assume Jungkook would just reject him without even giving Jungkook the chance to make that decision!

'Fine. I give you my word. However let me be very frank. You may be a trueblood for the whole god damn world but for me, you are my mate and my equal. I do not assume shit about your choices without letting you make them first, so I would appreciate that you do not make such assumptions about my choices either. Judging by how sure you are of the fact that I will reject you, it gives me the impression that rejection is something that you want. So tell me, do you want me to reject you? Because if that's the case, you don't need me to promise anything. Just say the words and I will reject you. Do you want the rejection Taehyung?'

Taehyung could feel the anger through the mate bond. He didn't expect Jungkook to get angry like this.

'No. I do not want you to reject me,' Taehyung had simply replied.

'Very well then. Don't take me for a weakling Taehyung. I know how to make decisions on my own. Next time you pull a stunt like this, where you assume shit rather than giving me even a chance to make a choice, I will break your bones, mate or no mate. Hope you get that shit inside that pretty head of yours.'

Jungkook had walked away, slamming the door in anger. Taheyung stood stunned in the room, very much surprised by seeing this side of Jungkook. The anger that he felt through the matebond was intense. He was sure that if he wasn't Jungkook's mate, then his bones would definitely have been broken by the alpha himself.

After that intense interaction, Taehyung was now sitted in the office with Junghwan, the hyungs and Jungkook, ready to tell them about his past.

'How much do you know about the Alpha Kim Kang?', Taehyung asked, breaking the silence and trying to avoid Jungkook's glares.

'Not much. We know he is ruthless. And power hungry. He also uses witches to help him do his dirty work. He is unmated and doesn't have an heir. And that he is the one who started the bloodlust training practice,' Junghwan replied, shifting slightly with unease. He had also felt the intense anger radiating from Jungkook.

Junghwan, along with the hyungs were well aware of Jungkook's anger, having witnessed it first hand in battle. They knew that the trueblood was in deep shit, and they wanted nothing to do with it. It was better to avoid the inferno that was bound to erupt.

'Part of that information is incorrect. Alpha Kim Kang was mated. And he does have a child, though the child is not his heir', Taheyung explained, noticing how everyone got so curious with that new information.

'What do you mean he was mated? Why doesn't anyone know about his mate and his child then?', It was Namjoon who voiced out the question that was on everyone's mind. Even Jungkook was curious now.

'His mate died 10 years ago. No one knew about his mate, because he never officially mated with her. She was an alpha, but her wolf was dormant, thus she was forced to submit as she couldn't fight back. Alpha Kim Kang hid her existence and their son's existence from everyone because he had another purpose for them. No one except his pack members knew about them', Taehyung explained, looking around to see if anyone connected the dots yet.

'Wait. If his mate was an alpha, and he is an alpha, then their child would be a..', Jin's words were left unsaid as gasps filled the room, everyone finally connecting the dots.

'A trueblood. Yes. Alpha Kim Kang is my father'
