Three weeks were what it took for things to get better for me in a safe land. I still couldn't let myself mingle with the other hunters, because I was so scared of their judgment, I had learned to cope with who I was.

Devon continued to train me. Sometimes we trained from the early hours of dawn to very late at night. It was really hard at first, but with time it became very bearable and surprisingly enjoyable.

I loved how my body was noticeably getting stronger, I loved how Devon would always encourage me, or say I was learning quickly. I could successfully do things I couldn't manage before like knocking Devon on his behind.

" Kira!", He grunted.

And I was proud of myself.

I laughed but offered a hand to help him up, and as expected he got up himself with a snort.

I rolled my eyes, as he patted sand off his body.

" That'll be all for today ", he grumbled.

I chuckled, " Why? Does your behind hurt so bad?"

He shot me a glare, his crimson eyes flashing like fire.

I batted my lashes innocently, "What ?"

He was soon in front of me, I had also gotten used to his speed not completely, but now I didn't flinch as much, or almost get a heart attack.
Now my heart skipped a beat, my body felt hotter, and I didn't want him to move away.

I had gotten to know Devon a lot more, and each thing I found out made me want to know even more about him. Sometimes he would tell me about his childhood, tell me things he liked and disliked, and tell me what he would want out of life if he wasn't a demon. It made me feel really good, and special that he was opening up to me. I had also shared so much about myself that it was scary. No one had ever made me want to open up like him, and Devon was a great listener. He made me feel like he appreciated every bit of information he got from me.

It made me sad that people, judge him based on the fact that he was a demon. Devon was by far one of the sweetest, and most caring beings I had met. He brought food every day for me to eat because he knew I didn't want to go to the cafeteria. And every morning, I would wake up to a hot cup of coffee on my bedside with a little note that reads  'Get your ass ready in ten '.

It was moments like that that made my day.

Most times, Kathryn would catch me smiling while getting ready, or sipping my coffee and she would look at me disapprovingly. I knew she had a lot she wanted to say to me, but these days when I got back to the room at night, she was already asleep. And in the morning, she was always in a rush to go for training. I felt like we rarely spoke to each other.

I smiled at Devon, " What ? ".

He smirked, and his eyes twinkled with mischief.

My brows bunched together, but before I could escape whatever he had obviously planned for me, he had gathered me in his arms, and then before I knew it we both landed in the water. He had teleported us into freezing water.

" Devon! ", I screamed.

He laughed.

I struggled to keep my head above the water.
" I can't swim idiot !", I managed to say.

His laughter circled me as his hands wrapped around my waist, pulling me to him, and keeping my head above the water.

I wrapped my legs around his waist and kept my hands around his neck. I swiped my hand across my face to get some water off, before glaring at the ridiculously handsome demon in front of me.
