Kira's pov
Devon wasn't fighting back. He wasn't even trying. He was letting Zethar win. My throat felt patched from all the screaming that I had been doing.
I kept begging him to fight back, but he didn't listen. I couldn't understand why. His blood was everywhere, and whenever I thought he was going to fight back, he proved me wrong.
My eyes moved to the cursed child that had been watching everything silently in the corner.
"Please help him", I cried, "Please".
He turned to me.
"Please help him", I cried.
His silver eyes gleamed with amusement, and he looked away again.
"Please !!", I screamed.
He didn't turn this time.
"Knowing my blood runs through your veins disgusts me ", Zethar growled, ramming his knee to Devon's face, who was on his knees before him. The crack sound that rang in the room was sickening .
"Stop !!!", I screamed.
"You're weak ! Just like your mother !".
He hit him again.
" Stop ! Please stop", I begged Zethar.
"Help him please ", I screamed at the demons and vampires remaining in the room. "Help him !".
They didn't move.
" You know what I'm done with this", Zethar said, "You deserve to die just like that pathetic woman that brought you to this world".
" Get me a stake ! ", Zethar ordered, and I swear I saw hesitation among the creatures in the room. Devon was part of them, he had grown up with them. And above all, Devon was good. He was good. It was one thing to beat him up, and another thing to bring a weapon for his death.
"Zethar please I'm begging you. Let him go please ", I pleaded.
" Get me a stake ! ", he growled, neglecting my words.
The demons didn't move, but one of the vampires did, with a long stake with a sharp pointy end in his hand.
I started screaming. "Please stop. Wait. Please. Devon what are you doing ?! ", I screamed at him.
His head was to the ground, he didn't move, he was accepting defeat.
As soon as Zethar took the stake from the vampire, he turned the head around, and I screamed, but instead he shoved it straight through the heart of the vampire that brought the stake.
Blood splattered out his mouth, and he stared at Zethar with wide eyes.
"That's for hesitating", he growled, and took the blood stained stake out, blood dripping out of it and I gagged at the sight.
The vampire fell to the ground dead.
Zethar turned to me. "When he's dead, I'll force your powers out of you myself. Zalas will rise", he told me, " And as for the rest of you", he addressed the vampires and demons that had hesitated, "You die !", He said. And immediately, the stake levitated, and rose from his hand. I watched it move from his hand, and into the chests of all the other creatures. One by one, they fell to the ground, dead.
I felt bile rise to my throat.
"And now you ...", He said to Devon.
"No !", I screamed.
"Devon ...", I struggled against the chains.
"Pathetic being ", Zethar spat, and he raised the stake.
