Chapter Forty One

Third person POV

Zethar laughed, he attacked.

His claws were an inch away from ripping Zethar's heart out, when he suddenly couldn't move a muscle, like his entire body was paralyzed. All he could do was stare at Zethar.

Zethar smirked, "A necklace Devon ? ", He laughed, "Did you really think I would rely on a necklace ? ".

Devon struggled to move, but couldn't.

"No, no, no Devon. You see I've always been watching her, watching you. I saw the both of you kiss, saw you tell her everything, saw you tell her that you loved her. I saw it all Devon. The necklace was just something extra, because before she even got there Devon, I've always been watching her ".

Zethar got closer to Devon, and stared into his eyes.
"Remember that dream you told me she had, and the shadow she saw after ? ", he chuckled, "What if I tell you she was absolutely correct about both ?".

He felt the pressure keeping his lips shut go away.

"You lied to me ! I came to you, and asked you about it, you said you didn't ", Devon growled, and struggled to break whatever was keeping him immobile.

"You betrayed me demon ", Zethar said, "But I won't end your pathetic life yet. You will be of great use to me in the near future, I can tell ".

"What the fuck did you do to her Zethar ?!".

And then he could finally move again, but an excruciating pain pierced through his head, like his skull was being smashed.
He screamed, and fell on his knees, cradling his head in his hands.

"It's Master Zethar Devon. Don't you ever forget your place !".

The pain in his head went away, and he sighed in relief.

"I know you're probably planning to run away with her, but I think you've already figured it out, and if you haven't I'll be glad to tell you. I marked her that night, which means she's mine ".

Devon began to shake in anger.

"If you move any further away from that place, the distance away from me will kill her. And if you kill me, she'll die as well. We're connected Devon, we're one. I see through her eyes, I breath through her, I hear everything she says, I know everything she thinks, and I know she has unlocked her powers ", Zethar said.

"I also know that she'll be turning twenty soon. I wonder what sounds she would make when I'm ... ".

Devon growled, turned into a blur, and had Zethar pinned by the neck against the wall before he could finish his sentence.

"I'LL KILL YOU ! ".

Zethar wheezed out a laugh, "Kill me, and you kill Kira ".

Devon reluctantly let him go.

Zethar smirked, " I warned you Devon, I told you so many times when you were young to stay away from love. It's beautiful, but equally dangerous. It makes you weak, and pathetic . Just the way you are right now. How stupid of you to neglect my teachings ".

Devon kept silent.

" For what it's worth, you should know she loves you too, which will absolutely work in my favor. Your little love story shall be your downfall demon ! ", he chuckled.

"I always knew you had potential. Hell, you are the strongest demon I have ever raised, but I tell you I underestimated you demon. You got the most powerful hunter madly in love with you, and the most powerful fire elemental pregnant with your child ".

Devon froze, and stared at Zethar. He knew Kira loved him, she didn't even have to tell him to figure it out. But a child, with a fire elemental ? What was he talking about ?

Zethar got closer to him, there were no more laughs, chuckles, or even a smile.

"I'm giving you one more task Demon. I heard the humans, and hunters are going to celebrate the anniversary of that place, they'll be too distracted that day. So, I want you to bring kira to me, and if you fail to by midnight then I'll just come, and take her myself. Not only will humans, and hunters die, but I'll make sure to kill that child of yours before it even sees the world, along with that elemental. This is the end of the hunters, and humans, it's over ! ".

"As soon as I have Kira here, I'll call the alpha king, and do you know what will happen next ?", He laughed like a maniac.

"Zalas shall rise, and heaven shall fall ! You can either be part of the new era, or against it. And anybody against it, shall perish ".

He shot him a smile, "See you later demon ".

Devon didn't teleport himself, but he appeared in his room. Zethar had teleported him.

He growled, and the entire place shook.

Zethar had fooled him, he should have known better !
He should have known that the vampire was full of lies, and couldn't be trusted.
The necklace was only an elaborate plan to make sure Kira wouldn't trust him again.

He growled again.

A child with the most powerful fire elemental, the only fire elemental he had slept with was ... His eyes widened, and his body went numb ... Evelyn. Evelyn was pregnant with his child. God, not her. She couldn't be involved in this mess too.

He fell on his knees, and cradled his head in his hands. Not only was Kira in danger, but Evelyn as well, he had failed them both. All was truly lost !
