I inhaled deeply and exhaled. Repeated the process over and over and over again, but I couldn't stop my anxiety.

I couldn't hear anyone talking outside, but I knew some humans or hunters were around. At least the ones staying in the rooms close to mine.

I held my breath then thought of all the reasons I had to go out.
One, I needed to find Rya.
Two, I ...
I was interrupted by a soft knock on my door.

Whoever it was knocked again, louder this time. I balled my hands to fists as anger washed over me. I was literally living a prisoner because of other beings. I was sick of it. At that point I had had enough.

The person knocked again, and I ripped the door open.
I didn't take a good look at him, didn't let him say a word, didn't think about my words, just started yelling.

"I have had enough of this bullshit ! Yes I'm powerless. Yes I'm different. Yes I'm an abomination. Whatever you think I am, why don't you just believe it and let me live my life in peace ! Who are you to make my life harder than it already is ?".

He blinked twice. He had the nerve to act like he didn't know what I was talking about.

"Aren't you tired of standing outside my door every single day, just to talk about me like you know me ? Aren't you tired of it ? Do you think I'm deaf ? Do you think ... ".

He cut in, "I'm ... ".

"You better shut your mouth and let me talk because I have been listening to all of you talk for days. You are all despicable, you people are the true definition of evil. You say we're one, we fight together, we do this, we do that. But you are the same people trying to bring me down everyday, and I really want to know why ?".

His brows rose. That fueled my anger.

"Why can't you just let me be ? Leave me alone ! Is that too much to ask ? God ! ", I slammed the door at his face.

My whole body was shaking, and my heart was beating really fast, but I felt so much better. The next person that'll dare disturb my peace was going to get a punch across the face. My lips stretched to a small smile as i remembered one of my training sessions with Devon . I had hit him so hard, he reeled several feet back.

My heart constricted, and my smile fell as I remembered his claws digging into my skin.

Someone knocked at my door again. For a second I thought I imagined it, but the person knocked again.
My hands balled to fists. I yanked my door open, and my anger skyrocketed when I realized it was the same guy.
I clentched my fists.

"Are you fucking deaf ? Or are some of your brain cells missing ".

He smiled.
He smiled.
I had to repeat that to myself because I didn't believe it. He actually had the nerve to smile ... at me.

"It's quite obvious that you've been through a lot, and I'm happy you were able to get it out of your system ... ".

My fist was a second away from connecting with his jaw when he said, " But I was just knocking to tell you that I'll be staying in this room. I wanted to introduce myself ".

He pointed at the door opposite mine.
I blinked.

"That's all ".

I was confused.
"Are you new here ?", I asked, releasing my hands.

His tongue swiped across his lips, "Yes and no. No because I've been here before, and yes because I haven't been here in like a year and some months ".

"Why ?".

"I'm one of the hunters selected by the seer to rescue humans and hunters from the outside, and bring them here ", he said.

I scanned him from head to feet. He looked twenty two, was really tall, muscular, I guess good looking but none of his features hinted at his gift.
