PARI POV

" Sohi?" He hadn't come in last night after dinner to sleep. I thought that he would talk a little with my ex and then, come back and sleep but when I woke up, I didn't find him in the room next to me. Rather, I heard voices coming from the living room.

I'll be honest, I didn't know how it would go when I let that man in because, Sohit seemed pretty mad in the start. Then, yesterday, by dinner I think he had found out that my ex was also an IT guy because they were talking something about some fucking motherboards or something else. I didn't pay much attention cuz I was busy in my thoughts. A new story had come to my mind that I really wanted to write and well, I was also cooking. So, they conversed and ate together, on my sofa while I ate in silence which wasn't an issue actually. I like my alone time very much. What I hadn't expected was that their conversation would go on for as long as till the next morning.

Because I found him chucking, lying on the floor with his laptop open and his head in the clouds the first thing in the morning and that other man? He was fucking passed out on the sofa with his laptop open too.

" SOHIT?! WHAT HAPPENED HERE?!"
" What? What?" And he got so shocked when I sat next to him... He even hit his head on the table while he tried to get up and that is when I heard a chuckle coming from the sofa. That's it. I was so damn sure about what happened there!
" YOU DID THIS, DIDNT YOU!? How many Goddamn times do I have to tell you, DON'T DRINK AND DON'T LET OTHERS DRINK!" But he really didn't seem to be caring. So, as I softly and worriedly held my boyfriend's head close to my shoulders, he only chuckled
" You're pregnant?! AHHH! CONGRATS," How much had they drunk?! My entire sofa was reeking of alcohol and I was so mad at that moment because none of them were in the condition of even sitting up. I knew that that man was irresponsible but Sohit?! He was such a sensible person! Besides, that smell was making me nauseous... And so was the lifeless way that they were laying.

But then, I heard something even worse. More like, found out something even worse...
" PARI?! IS THAT YOU!? HELLO!?" That was his father. Definitely his father. Shit. This was so not going to go well. I didn't know what was the need of him to call his father but whatever it was, it was so not going to end well.

" Hello? Uncle,"
" What is happening there!? Sohit was acting all crazy over the call!" I closed my eyes as I saw Sohit drop his head down over the floor but rather than groaning in pain, he was only chuckling. He really had gone mad. Had they been... Drugging each other!? God. I didn't know anything at that point!
" I. I don't know uncle. I just woke up too... I had an old friend over for 2 days. He's an IT guy. So, I thought they got well acquainted. Now they are both drunk... I just. I'll call you once he wakes up? They've created a mess..."
" Wait. He was also saying something like. He got you pregnant. Pari!??!" That was his mother. Fuck. When I heard her voice. I closed my eyes, frowned and kept a hand over my forehead. There was no way for me to lie any longer... Fuck. I wanted to wait till I was with them yaar!
" Auntie. I," I sat down over the floor for a moment and then, pursed my lips. Even my parents didn't know anything about that. I really wanted to wait man...!
" I really wanted to wait till the lockdown ended before telling anyone,"

" That kid. He's gone wild, I'm telling you!" That was a voice that I didn't recognize at all coming from the background
" Pari. You didn't drink. Right?" That was Suhani, another familiar voice. You know, now I feel like she was one of my best tenants ever
" Huh? No. No. I didn't. I was sleeping. God... I didn't even hear anything. Now my place is a mess and-"
" It's ok. Chill. You just relax..."
" Yeah. You relax. Don't take any tension with the baby. How long has it been by the way?"
" 1 month now. I. I'll do one thing. I'll get him to call you guys once he wakes up,"
" Yeah. You do that. Then I'll see that rascal!" His father shouted. Well, at least someone was on my side and angry at that man.

I wanted to pick him up and lay him on the bed but with my condition, all I could do was put a pillow under his head and a blanket over him. The other guy? He did not get anything! That man. Fuck him! He's the reason why my perfect boyfriend drunk that night!

But that seriously put a damper over everything. I was so damn tensed and when my mother called, I just blew up over her face.
" Pari! Pari! Big news! Sohit's mother called me. Asking for your hand in marriage. I should say yes na!?"
" Pch. Whatever," I was annoyed
" What happened? You don't sound happy,"
" I'll tell you what happened. Your dear Prachi called Soham. My ex and told him that I stayed alone in the lockdown. So, he came to my house on Friday night! And I had to fucking give him a place to stay here! But that isn't even the worst part. No. He got drunk with Sohit last night and now, I have the clean the mess. Mumma. You na, keep your daughter in check. I'm so not going to tolerate anymore of this nonsense behavior of hers!"
