The bad news

" And you reached properly na..." she was on her phone with her brother and I would have loved to really fuck the shit out of her at that very moment because it was early in the morning and she was looking really hot with her hair wet but... She was talking to her brother. I did not have an option but to wait for my turn. 

" I reached properly. But," and I do not understand why she had to keep that call over the speaker. I was already finding it hard to pay attention at my work with her roaming around me and his voice was just adding in the distraction 
" But what?" she kissed me softly once on my lips and then, sat down right next to me on the bed and opened her laptop. I don't what she thought before kissing me but for me, the fact was that she was teasing me
" I heard all the rumors here ha! That man! Who is he!?!" Great. And her brother only had to talk about me. Plus that evil look she gave me when he asked that question. Whatever she was going to do was not going to be good, at all! 
" Who do you think he is?" 
" Prachi said that mumma is talking about his marriage with her. But why would he be staying with you?" 
" Prachi is dumb and she does not understand when to stop with her obsessions-"
" Basically. You are dating him, right?!" and that tone just made me believe that he wanted to kill me. 
" AYE! Stop trying to act all Macho and stuff. What about you, ha?! You also were with that girl na-"
" It's different!" 
" Yeah right. I should na do 1 thing. I'll call papa and tell him that you are already even engaged! Waise. I forgot to ask... Why were you working as a pizza delivery guy? Don't you still have that job!?" Well. I'd love to ask him the same question. She did tell me that he worked as an animator at Disney. Doesn't that pay well enough?
" Pch. Nothing. I just needed some money over the table-"
" Why?" 
" Ahem. No reason-"
" Oye hello! I'm na your twin sister. Not some foolish small girl who grew up with you. I know that this has something to do with that girl-"
" Pch, Pari. Just stay out of this yaar!" 
" As if! Tell me right now or I'll tell your black deeds to papa!" 
" Ok! Ok! Fine! I'm texting. Just... Just keep quiet now! I still need to sort this thing out," Now. I wasn't particularly listening but I was practically listening and I just got curious. OK! Like a normal human, I got curious and peeped at her phone. 

What I saw though. That thing. It made my skin pale up. I do not know if I should have been happy or what. All I did though was look right at her in a little shock when I read that 
" She's pregnant and we need to save up for the kid," 
That was neither something that I wanted to know nor needed to know. Fuck my curiosity! 

" Pranav?" and judging from her tone, she was in shock too. I did not expect that man to say that at all. Nope. 

" I know. I know! Don't start lecturing me now! First, let me talk to papa about this and then, I'll tell you everything! BYE!" 

For a moment, there was only silence between us before I saw her close her phone and looking at me with sparkly eyes. Immediately, I knew what she wanted to talk about!

" Sohi..." she started with her slithery tone that made me jump up in my skin and squint my eyes. It's funny how she has never called me that before that day.
" Sohi?"
" Sohi," she kept her laptop down and scooped towards me.
" Can you give me a baby too!?"
" No," the moment that came out of her mouth, I was out. Dating, shifting in with her even in Delhi, I was fine with. To start a family that early?! No way. I was only 27 and we weren't even married yet! Sex with protection is a different thing. Sex with the intention of having a kid? COUNT ME OUT!
" Why not!? You'll have a cute little baby after we go to Delhi and you're already 27. I mean, your fertility will also run out sooner or later na... Besides, they say na. If we have kids early, they will be smarter-"
" A hard pass. Pari. What I want from life at this point is to pay attention at my work and reach my goal of being the chairman of a large MNC. I'm not ready to have kids. Settling down with you though is something we can talk about. Not kids," I warned her and she pouted. She got the message, I could see it but she just wanted to tease me more. So, she basically grinded me over and over again on the same topic till the evening when I finally gave up and was going to shout at her.

" Only one! Please!" I would have shouted at the girl who had joined her hands and was begging at that point if she hadn't gotten a call from her brother. He saved her. Bastard.

But it wasn't a call about a normal threatening statement he had to issue at me. I understood that when I saw the overdramatic expression over her face fade away. Instead, her face just paled and her body stiffened as she lost balance of even her phone in her hands and when it fell on the floor, I got the idea that something bad was up. So, I stepped closer towards her and grabbed her shoulders.

" What happened?" By that point, her eyes were even tearing up. It was as if she heard some very very bad news. Turns out, it was a bad news in fact.
" Bua died. Papa and mumma are in the hospital. Pranav and Prachi are self-quarantined... I can lose my parents and become an orphan..."
